apparently this phone will last another good 3 years, it's running the latest iOS with no lags, the build quality can be compared to a tank, never used cases, droped several times and nothing happened.
the battery obviously shited itself, now I got another one for dirty cheap so I can fully enjoy the next 3 years. Looks like my next iPhone will be the 8.

Bought mine on release, got a 6 and 6S from work but for some reason I love my 5S.
Unbreakable little brick, does everything fast and neat. Camera good enough for snapshits, always carry a Leica anyway.
I don't give a shit about hardware and toss it in ym jacket and jeans next to keys and coins but she still holds up.

I have a 4s.It does not run well, in any way. Everything lags; typing lags, the browser lags, opening and closing apps lags. It doesn't have enough ram to keep more than one or two apps open, and the battery is par at best.

My only smartphone is a launch day Nexus 5 and I haven't experienced any of this. I get around 4 hours of screen on time since I keep GPS and Bluetooth off until I need them. I keep a small power-bank on me in case of emergencies but I top off at work.

Did the same thing, got my 5 on release day, had to replace the battery after three years and some (it's very cheap though) and it's still giving me no reason to buy a new one. I guess iOS 10 will be the last one supported for the iPhone 5, but honestly, if the apps I have now don't cease to work, I couldn't care less. I also have an iPhone 5 from Fall 2012. I almost pulled the trigger on a 6S but then realized that there's really no reason to as my 5 is still working great. I went caseless starting a year ago and it hasn't picked up any major damage.
I don't know why people are so snobby about phone choices, it's not like a desktop or laptop where you can actually do anything truly productive with it. There are very good reasons to choose PC over Mac and vice versa, but with phones I just don't give a shit. All I need in a phone is one that can browse the internet, text, and youtube. Phone games are shit anyways. If I wanna game then that's what the 980 Ti is for.
