What's the best music visualizer?
I still use Milkdrop for Winamp, but it hasn't been updated in many years due to Winamp being discontinued. Are there any good new ones? Anything that can recognize music patterns in advance and sort of script the visualizer presets for them?

Avs is the only answer

seems they have been gradually phased out since 2007.

Why? They can be so beautiful

How is AVS better than Milkdrop? They look about the same to me
I tried Electric Sheep like 5 years ago and was not particularly impressed. But I looked it up again just now and it looks great:

I guess ES is the only big visualizer still actively being maintained?
Such a shame no one seems to care about this stuff anymore. If people had kept up the level of interest and fast pace of development that they had for it back in the 2000's, we could basically be watching music videos rendered in real time by these programs
Your mind, you idiot.

I love the scrolling Oscilloscope in Foobar. It's basic, but it looks really nice.

Any spectrum analyser
How is projectM for phones? How is it compared to Milkdrop on PC? Is it super taxing on the phone?
