Would you pay for unmetered but throttled mobile internet?
For example imagine a company offered 1Mbps for $40, 2Mbps for $60, 4Mbps for $80, and 8Mbps for $100. All plans would also include unmetered mobile hotspot + unliminted calling/texting.
In theory these speeds running for 12 hours a day/31 days a month would let you download:
~160GB for 1Mbps
~320GB for 2Mbps
~640GB for 4Mbps
~1280GB for 8Mbps
Would such a service even be possible to maintain?
Seems pretty fair, I would pay for that. The 1 Mbps plan would be more than enough for me. Even 360p youtube video streams are like 500 kbps so 1 Mbps isn't really that bad.
This would put comcast on suicide watch though. They have like a 250GB data cap. They would sperg out and try to sue the loving fuck out of this company though.

As much as I love "muh speed" I would rather pay for unmetered internet. $100 for 8mbps for unmetered mobile hotspot sounds like a dam good deal to me.
If I could connect this to my laptop, I would consider it. I have not a cellphone and would not want to carry one for it, but more importantly, I just do not donwload that mush stuff.
Not that I cannot see the value of it for some applications, but it just is that those applications I do not use.

My mobile phone internet is super fast until 6gb is used, then my mobile internet gets slow and unmetered.
My ISP has a public wifi in every router they place. So I can also use free wifi all across the country as I have my home internet with that ISP. As long as I'm near a building of someone who uses the same ISP, which is pretty much always.

There are two ISPs that throttle, Comcast and AT&T. Most of the country has no data caps like that. Some of the capped regions don't even have enforced caps.
