What is the undisputed, most complete DE available for GNU/Linux?
XFCE and Unity do not count.

unity

currently using it senpai. it's really good but a bit rough around the edges, thus it can't be considered.
Is there a DE out there that happens to be maintained by severe autists?
Unity really senpai, once you get used to the keyboard shortcuts and tweak a little bit it becomes god tier.
XFCE or Unity.
XFCE just fucking works, except the compositor. Switch to compton.
Unity just works and can be tweaked quite a bit with compiz config as well
On the other hand, Gnome is a bit slower and needs to be heavily tweaked to turn into something normal, KDE does this 2x, Cinnamon and MATE are buggy.

There is no best environment. It's all up to preference. /thread

Use Gnome 3. Unity is noticibly slower and laggier than Gnome 3.

Gnome albeit it needs tweaking.
Unity if it wasn't jack shit on all distros including ubanto.
And XFCE is the runner up it's not as good as the previus but it just werks.
OP here, GNOME sounds good, I'll have to try it out once Unity decides to fuck up again.
Could someone explain WM's to me? Would running a window manager mean experiencing less bugs?
