so what's your favorite desktop enviroment and why?
>>
None. I just use a WM and build my own environment on top.
>>
LXQt because nothing else is light. XFCE is "light" like your fucking mom after an all-night dinner fried food all you can eat buffet is "light".
>>
>>51419217
DEs are for noobs. just get a WM like i3 or awesome.
>>
>>51419217
windows 10
>>
gnome flashback.

Or something lighter I suppose.
>>
>>51419217
GNOME because it just fucking works with my surface pro 3 and I don't have time to figure out where to put scripts to get my fucking audio buttons to work
>>
>>51419217
There's bits of all of them that I can't stand to be without, so I never end up using one more than any other
>>
>>51419217
Cinnamon (on Debian) - it's the best of a bad lot. All of them look a little ugly but some are amateurish and ugly.

>>51419592
If only... I would seriously consider paying a small fee if Microsoft released non-Metro as a desktop environment.
>>
MATE (on Debian testing). It makes my balls tingle with nostalgia.
>>
>>51419217
Fluxbox or Cinnamon, cant decide.
>>
I use the one in elementary OS. It just works, never had to do anything after I popped the DVD.
>>
I use cinnamon and sometimes i3. I mostly just like having something pretty to look at so I mess around with cinnamon. I3 feels nicer to use though although I still have to review shortcuts since I don't use it enough.
>>
I like xfce, but I'm making it more and more like cinnamon.
>>
Unity
>>
>>51419217
Favourite? Gnome, due to nostalgia of my Yellow Dog (PPC RHL fork for PS3) days of sticking it to Sony. Thanks cunts for all the free games I got access to by holding off the update to keep otherOS.
>>
XFCE
it's so damn comfy

Can I get some screenshots? My windows look so bad. I don't know if I should change the WM, the VM theme, or who knows what the fuck else.

AERO

>just works
I never understood this. It was always buggy for me and Midori limped along like a diseased dodo. The whole experience was shit. If you like it because it looks nice, fair enough, but you could get a better system with Debian testing + GNOME + Plank + a Mac theme.

Glad I chose MATE desu senpai, idles at just under 300mb.

I know idle memory usage doesn't really mean anything, I just think it's interesting.

At the risk of getting BTFOd my favorite is OSX 10.6, its just super comfy for me and for my workflow it just works. I learned how to do all my work in that environment and it just works for me. My personal fuck around build though I enjoy Ubuntu GNOME, but I don't really use it too much.
>>
Ubuntu + GNOME. That's the sheet spot. I also have Windows 10 theme for window style and Mac OS X top bar.

You bookmarked Abos?

That must be a good video.

it's just https://www.youtube.com/feed/subscriptions
this way youtube doesn't distract me with their retarded suggestions.

I am extremely happy with Numix. What I didn't know was how xfce handles qbittorrent. Am I in the 20th century?
