Nothing special here at all. Galaxy SIII with Apex Launcher and MIUI icons. Chose no custom rom as they all fail to meet stock ROM photo quality.

i like the style & the background, but the clock should be slightly smaller. also, whether you want zero icons or a smattering is your choice, but groups of even numbers look infinitely worse than odd. add either one or three icons, or drop them all.

to begin- the battery percentage should be the same font as the clock (that you made, +1), or be separate, & the percent sign should be equal size to the numbers.
having an icon of the system or os you are using on your screen is unnecessary, & does not inherently belong in aesthetically pleasing interfaces. never put free advertising on something unless it is literally art.
the icons arent stock (+1) but are stock & brand shapes. see above.
my subjective advice? add an HUD that pops up at the touch of a button. add all the stats & notifications you want.
start there & try to pick up any theme you want to go for asking the way. minimalism is a design tool, not a theme in itself. you are on solid ground to begin though.

well, good job on moving away from iPhone but samsung phones have many problems as well. The main issue is that the phones come with relatively powerful hardware, and then the shittiest skin of android, which is touchwiz. Touchwiz slows down the phones so much for how powerful they are, so most people try to avoid it.
Also, I personally just don't like having any physical buttons. I'd rather have as much surface area as possible be dedicated to the screen with soft keys, and the option to hide soft keys in some apps for more screen space.

That's ok, we can give you some advice. Firstly, I'd definitely get an icon pack (go look around on the play store for one you like).
Then, get rid of the status bar and the page indicator at the bottom.
It should look pretty nice after you take those steps. And in case you didn't know, you need a custom launcher to be able to apply icon packs. I recommend nova.
