Your thoughts on Firefox Sync?
It would be nice if the self-hosted option were more bulletproof. I have no idea if the whole thing actually works.
useless "feature".
It might help people with transferring content from their phone to their dekstop, but I don't use those devices interchangeably.
I use it with my pc and laptop. Pretty comfy

I find it very useful for sharing bookmarks and password between my Desktop PC and my Laptop, as well as my phone.
It saves me a lot of hassle when I deleted windows on my laptop and installed Linux.
Too afraid to use it, because I'm worried of somebody hacking and datamining my bookmarks. :p

It's very useful to me since I dual boot. But I can't help but feel a bit venerable since now Mozilla knows everything about my browsing.
I use multiple PCs and multiboot too, so it's a blessing.

This. Even though I use it all the time (>>51417892), I have no idea whether it's safe or what Mozilla does with my data.
How safe are my passwords with this thing?
it's pretty cool but nowadays I only use it for bookmarks and passwords, I don't want my porn history to appear on my work PC

It's a useful feature. I reinstall windows quite often and it really saves me the hassle of copy pasting the fucking mozilla folder to save all my shit and it still doesn't cover everything.
I used to follow Mozilla's blog and when Sync was introduced, they explained the whole process.
I remember it being end-to-end encryption and a good one at that.
Might be slightly related.
But how do you fuck off the new iOS/Android sync banner that pops-up underneath the URL bar? That shit is fucking disgusting.

Thanks Firefox Sync
No idea what it does and never used it. Does it sends my data to Firefox?
>>51418332
Yes, but it's encrypted.
It's zero knowledge.

Nothing to hide nothing to fear
>>51418302
It should dismiss if you click the close button but if that fails then:@namespace url(http://www.mozilla.org/keymaster/gatekeeper/there.is.only.xul);
@-moz-document url(chrome://browser/content/browser.xul) {
#high-priority-global-notificationbox {
display: none !important;
}
}

Have you read it? Seeing as you're so confident that it's zero knowledge?
Do you really trust a company that just introduced intrusive ads in their browser?
