If you bought the 305s for their intended use - as reference monitors - you would know that you're paying a bit more for a more neutral response coupled with the waveguide in order to make mixing and arranging easier, although room treatment is just as important. A little more digging and you could've found even cheaper monitors to use, or just regular bookshelf speakers, if you're not concerned with production. You shouldn't rely only on /g/ for direction on buying things.

The T420 is good. Put in the highest res screen it takes, an ssd and a new battery. Take it apart, all the keys too and clean it properly. Return those speakers and the interface. Buy a real guitar amp with tubes, you can get something good for $500. Buy a Shure SM57/8 ($50) and a ~$200 interface. If you can't afford good speakers, get a good set of monitoring headphones for ~$70.

LSR305 is by definition a high fidelity speaker and compared to most audiophile and "high end" speakers a heck of a lot better. It's almost a steal for the price.
Literally the single most important thing in any audio reproduction equipment is the frequency response. If you don't care about it, you might as well stop caring about loudspeaker design altogether. Anything else in measured performance has little to no meaning if frequency response is shit. LSR305 has fantastic frequency response on and off axis which is something you rarely see, especially in this price point.
But please, since you can't even seem to point out what is wrong with it, I'm sure you can name a "real" loudspeaker to compare.

they do the same thing on my RME Babyface so I don't think some cheapo dac is going to do anything. I'm probably returning mine, not because they don't sound good, but because I'm realizing how unnecessary they are to a pair of decent headphones. I underestimated how extremely loud they are, too. You could easily use these for a fucking house party or something, which is way too much for me.
