Seriously, what were they thinking. With Win 7, 8 getting these spy updates too, it doesnt even make sense to go back.

Can you imagine how much it sucks to work at MS?

You're forced to work in a room full of pajeets, spending your whole day shilling and checking Mac rumors.

Don't forget about constantly having to troll and lie on /g/ and other forums about how awesome Microsoft is and how GNU/Linux is fucking terrible because of some 10+ year old long since fixed non-issue they have to exaggerate.

Yeah, I've generally been a windows fanboy but I'm really hating 10 right now. I even enjoyed 8. Everything seems broken on 10, right now I can't click the little volume button to adjust my volume, I have to use the media keys on my keyboard. Sometimes, the taskbar will disappear, then pop back up right away as if it did it on purpose. The buttons at the top of a fullscreen window look like they're too low, they should be centered vertically in the bar. The mail app doesn't check my mail and makes it way too complicated to switch email accounts (I used the mail app in windows 8, it was fine). The notification center is completely useless, it only gives me shit about windows. The weather live tile never shows me any weather (It didn't in 8 either, so I'm not surprised).

I also use macbooks regularly, and I have to say that OSX is way better, especially with El Capitan. If I ever have a reason to replace my desktop, I'll get a mac pro and then virtualize windows whenever I want/need visual studio.

Could do the same with linux now, but linux is usually a hassle for anything desktop related and my emacs config has trouble loading.

no operating system is safe from NSA. Literally all of you just hate it because its a meme to hate it, none of you can form personal opinions.

my libreboot arm machine would like a word with you

The latest 10586 build and cumulative update fixed many issues. It's a brand new platform of rolling release so it will get better with time.

I upgraded again after a month to see what had changed, for one I got brand new drivers from my manufacturer instead of generic ones previously.

Sound and graphics are better than Windows 7 now.

I hate doing updates, but I'll go for it
>>
>>51413732
I've used it and formed an opinion of it.

Good stuff:
- Virtual desktops
- The new start menu sucks less than 8's
- Action center is better than the lame fly-in things in 8.1, and has some useful toggle things at the bottom
- Tablet mode is kind of nice, given that what I've put it on is in fact a tablet
- The new theme is clean and does have good visibility on a small screen -- though I still want to be able to make it whatever colors I want, if I choose ugly ones it's my own fault

Bad stuff:
- The new start menu still isn't as good as 7's -- customization is limited, and search is dog slow to find shit. Classic Shell fixes this.
- Forced updates, they suck. Yes you can disable it with group policy, but then you're still stuck with a "check for updates" button that blindly installs everything available. If you want any updating at all, it's like Russian roulette if you don't look at update lists online first.
- Sometimes an upgrade breaks compatibility with software, so it removes the software rather than just letting you find out it doesn't work and rolling back the offending update if it's a big deal to you
- Telemetry and whatnot takes up CPU, sometimes at awkward times
- Settings is sort of schizophrenic, some stuff being in new Metro apps and some in old Control Panel applets -- and who would have guessed that screen resolution is an advanced setting
- I don't like the theme very much. I like having some window border and the ability to make the title bars something other than white.
- Inconsistent colors -- black some places, white others, some title bars are gray
- Still no ClearType in Metro and now it's spread to more of the system than in 8.1
- Threshold 2 is faster, but from what I can tell still a bit slower than 8.1

All in all, I think I'll be sticking to 8.1 on my main machine.

Indians are everywhere in tech.
I work with SAP and the people I am usually working with hands on are Indian.

A few are truly great. Some are good. Some are okay.

Most offshore resources are worthless. I spend my time and effort training them then they leave for a better job due to their new experience.

So they spend a few bucks less an hour to spend five digits a week for a consultant to train them again and again.

Ahh, logic.

additionally,

Wtf Microsoft Are You Even Trying:
-Notifications don't persist in the Action Center unless they are from a Windows Store app. If not a Windows Store app, you have to figure out how to write poorly documented COM server bullshit.

they even left both fucking control panels in from each looking totally different and managing different settings

I quit 10 because of this bullshit before the spying was the big deal
>>
>>51416332
Vestiges of the old Control Panel are going to remain for the foreseeable future because there's too much legacy shit that's dependent on it, it would be silly to think otherwise.
>>
>>51413584
Did you have to make those start menu icons yourself?
>>
>>51416332

Wow. I've been ready to jump ship since Windows 7, one of the primary offenses is they keep fucking with the control panel settings. I would learn it all, then stuff would get moved around arbitrarily in the next iteration. "Am I stupid, am I imagining things...nope, the tards in Redmond moved it around again!" What's the point in becoming a power user?

But this shit, anon...holy fuck. Have fun kids, but remember: this is not real "computing." Never forget it.
