Is there a bigger pre-built PC rip off company?
Does anyone actually but these things?
tl:dr i5 6500 + 960 2GB for $2500
But duh custom paint job, man.

Well at least the custom paint job is built into the price
I thought they maybe they built the hardware in house given the line of "handcrafted silicon"

I don't know, I got ripped of my Alienware though. Bought a laptop and basically 500€ just went straight into their ass. Not the greatest rip-off ever but I still feel bad.

Why didn't you do more research?
Overall alienware laptops aren't too bad comparatively speaking because they come with large cooling solutions

Too late now but I always wanted a laptop so there wasn't really another choice. I didn't expect though that I pay so much more in comparison to a desktop just because it's a laptop.

Of course it's going to cost more than a comparable desktop, it comes with a battery and display, in addition to being portable, I thought you mean in comparison to a laptop

Yeah but I did a comparison on pc part picker and it still cost 500€ more with monitor and everything. If you want to compare, it was the Alienware R2, the launch model with the i-7 4710HQ. I didn't get CPU, GPU or RAM upgrades, it was the entry level for around 1700€.
Maybe I got it wrong but on part picker I capped out on 1200€ with everything, including monitor and OS. I like that the laptop is quiet and portable but's that's about it compared to a desktop. If I did really blow 500€ into the air then my next PC is not gonna be a laptop anymore.
