I don't plan on gaming that much, I like the do 3D art and Video editing.
I got that board because it was the best there for the price.
Don't know the prices of what else you have available, but if that Xeon was between an i5 and i7, and that B85 is what passes for cheap, and you were looking for the best, cheapest processor with no overclocking, you did fine.

I live in AU.
in comparison I built an AMD and Intel system in the same month in 2010. I still own and use my Intel box but not the AMD because it died less then three years after, no overclock. CPU itself died not mobo or PSU, So I'm in favor of Intel CPU's. But AMD has the best GPU'S.
OP Just check socket type and if its a match it fits.
