WSJ: Apple has 92% of all smartphone industry profit in Q1 2015
Crazy. This marks a 65% increase for Apple compared to a year ago.
Full chart (reason Apple + Samsung is over 100% is due to negative profit across multiple companies)
>compare to quantity
>evaluate cost/quantity
>apply economics
still overpriced
Apple is rich because they don't give a shit about their workforce.
One Apple Store employee probably earns more per hour than five Chinese kids on the assembly line combined earn in a day.

You mean at literally the same foxconn factories used by every other company

Every company is like that
They can charge whatever they want and people will still buy it because
1. status/ looks
2. its a better experience compared to android
3. werks
And that is why they are rich
How can people be so dumb
>>51393827
Yes, every company is a lying hypocritical sociopathic machine.
>>51394818
both are shitty almost entirely useless products
might as well get the fashionable one
>>51393132
They don't care about anything but money. If they could push a button which killed a person they don't know and gave them a million in capital gains, they'd be doing that all day.

You mean the ones apple installed nets around to stop workers from killing themselves?
>>51394921
Yea that was the only thing cheap enough for those bastards to do. They could've actually just improved wages but, oh no- dare any poor workers get two meals a day.
>APPLE IZ RICH BCOZ U R DUMB
AND U R DUM BCUZ YU DIDINT BUY AAPL AND GIT RICH 2

Op is a retard. It cost $100-$200 to build an iPhone. Highest price they go for? $1049. Those ludicrous profit margins are why they have 94% of the profits. The iPhone is a quality product, but it should not be anywhere near as expensive as it is

Which companies use foxcon?
I've seen some Intel motherboards with their label on it.
Samsung fucked themselves with S5 garbage.

I've always wondered about this cost shit.
For example, the orange pi pc sells for $15, but the processor (allwinner h3) sells for $6.
Do they get it cheaper because it's bulk or is that the bulk price? How can they make a profit selling so cheap?
How much would an iPhone really cost when you factor in other things like marketing and r&d? Is that material cost how much it costs the factory, or how much the factory charges apple per phone?

>That wild swing from 40/50% Apple/Samsung to 90/15% Apple/Samsung over only 3 quarters
Wow that data isn't suspect or anything! Where are these hundreds of millions of people who suddenly stopped buying Samsung and bought an iPhone instead?

>Which companies use foxcon?
It's easier to ask which ones don't.
