I read that's somewhat laggy and they confirmed they won't update it to lollipop or marshmallow. I'm thinking about buying it but there are better choices
>>
>>51390176
Verizon right now looks to be cheaper than T-Mobile if you don't care about having tons of 4G usage.

My wife and I rarely ever even come close to using more than 2-3 GB a month, so we're thinking about it because Verizon has vastly superior coverage to ATT or TMobile.
>>
>>51390264
You don't get it do you
>>
>>51390278
Get what?

I get the V10 is a fine phone, but you're going to have to add more than just the V10 to the list of /g/ approved phones or you simply come off as Biased as fuck. Sure the V10 is the current top dog for snapdragon, but there are other devices that are up to par or better than it as well that aren't mentioned simply because the OP is biased against no removable battery and no mSD card.

Again, it's obvious bias and any general thread with obvious bias in the first post is worthless garbage.
>>

Verizon is not that much greater at LTE coverage than AT&T, have you seen a map recently? I also hate CDMA networks because you can't BYOD like you can with GSM networks and the device choices aren't as good if you're not looking for the top of the line, also VZW does shady shit

The OP changes every time due to suggestions.

Why don't you start with proposing what you think a /g/ approved flagship should be?

Everything on phase 1 is confirmed getting 6.0 you cock munch. They just haven't confirmed a date of release yet because the current flagships get priority.

All phase 2 phones will be getting 6.0 as well, just later in 2016. And phase 3 includes even more phones not shown on that list that are slated for updates in the 2nd half of 2016.

Stop being retarded.

>>51390450
S5 is 24 months old in april and it is on the phase 1 list meaning it IS 100% getting the update. That is 2 years after it launched fuck face.

Also, what other phones are going to be running 6.0 by 2016? Looks like my note5 will.

>>51390474
The active series is always behind the main galaxy series, this has always been the case because its AT&T only. It will be getting 6.0 100% you fucking idiot.

Phablet size:
V10, Z5p, Note5(S6 edge+ for europe)

Well considering a few days after that leaked document with that timeline surfaced a T-mobile note5 user managed to accidentally update to 6.0 early. So they already have a 6.0 build ready for the Note5 which means that December 2015 date on that timeline looks like it will be accurate, and if that's accurate, then I expect everything else on that list to get 6.0 at some point as well, though most will be early/mid 2016

>There is a lot of Samsung hate as well
That's because you're on /g/ though, half these autists had S3's in highschool/college and since they were forced to use shitty touchwizz back then, they have never forgiven samsung. The hate spreads even to this day, despite the fact touchwizz is nothing like what it was back then.

The other part of the hate comes from the fact "normies" tend to buy samsung, so /g/ automatically has to hate on them.

You do bring up a valid point, but having a single /g/ approved flagship as it stands now just makes the thread seem like an LG shilling thread. The OP should try to show the least amount of bias as possible.

Considering how many fuckers have bought this phone, and how good it is, I don't really see how it's not.

Myself and the one other guy starting these threads are by no means shills.

If there is a worthy /g/ flagship, then we will put it up there. The recently shilled phones just means that people are talking about them a lot, so they're good as well.

Most of which don't necessarily work everywhere

Most of which have weird bloated crap and almost no XDA support

If we can find phones that are actually unlocked, work on US/UK/Europe carriers, and have some XDA support, then fine, we can list them potentially.

However, if they have no roots commonly available, they can fuck off.

>>51390761
I don't see any other anons posting their recent purchases, and it seems to be the best phone in that market segment at the time.

ARM is a lot more efficient for the battery usage.
>>

I agree, but not all the chink phones are easy to get or they ship worldwide.

I named a few that I know I could get, and nowadays you get decent specs on a nice price point.

You could argue that you could also get a oneplusone for example but those are cheap but hard to get because of the retarded invitation system and they don't ship worldwide.

I don't see why we couldn't make a list along the flagship you suggested and add it to the OP

The only way to get it cheap is through Verizon and Best Buy or Costco right now, where with a 2 year agreement you can get it for 50-150 bucks.

>>
>>51390860
>fags that didn't wait for SD820
i mean, I bought my phone in august, should I have waited the 5-6 months from august until january/feb?

And if ~6 months is a reasonable amount of time to wait, then once SD820 is out, you could make an argument to wait for the next big SoC as well.

Just get whatever is the best when you need to upgrade and you'll be fine, unless you're literally 3-4 weeks or less from the launch of something new.
>>
>>51390860

SD820 is probably not going to be much better. It's still an 800 series chip.

I'm looking to get a smart watch to go with my phone. Should I buy now or is it likely that there will be good deals on them with the upcoming BF/CM deals?

Not sure, but I am looking at my bill for 4 lines right now, 2 note 5s, and S6 active and a Moto G 2nd gen.

Both note 5s are $25/month with a $15 access.

S6 active is $20/month with $15 access

Moto G is $0/month with $40 access.

You all fucks saying shit. The Zenfone 2 is a piece of crap. It comes with more bloatware than Android. It's hotter than a Fermi GPU. And runs on a shit x86. Note 5 is a objectively better phone.

I gotta admit, this was one of the biggest things I really liked about getting my Note5, web browsing went from an occasional thing that was laggy on any heavier sites with lots of images or shit, to now I'd say the web browsing is on par with a laptop, its smooth, everything loads up quick and doesnt stutter.

>>51391243
and yet you're the one who still hasn't used it and is still perpetuating a meme based off their experience literally years ago. The fact you still think it's relevant is actually shocking.

>>51391214

We were talking about $200 phones, so ye.
>>
You know the phone is bloated when the stock ROM image is over 500mb.
>>
>>51391243
Eh, touchwiz has improved a lot over the years. I used to test phones at work (I worked on the FIOS streaming service for Verizon, that shit is awful never use it) and touchwiz on the 2015 phones is certainly a lot lighter and less ugly. It looks almost stock now.

There's a reason for it. It was an agreement between Google and Samsung in order for Google to sell off Motorola, that Samsung had to bring their phones closer to stock Android.
>>
What do you think m8s, shell out a bit more money for z3 or go for a 64bit soc with mi4c

>>
>>51391314
idiots and marketing, no seriously
>>
>>51391314

Because they make phones with often the best specs and cameras

They also tend to have the best damn displays of any Android phones

Also, touchwiz has improved greatly on the most recent generation of phones, not that most people cared if they got to that market share

Also, marketing
>>

>never updates anything below $350

>>51390375

Galaxy A3, A5, etc, are on the list for getting 6.0 update, and guess what, they cost $200-250
>>
>>51391291
if you want Battery life, the BLU Studio Energy 2 has like a 4000mAH battery and lasts a couple of days and has a better SoC
>>
>>51391314
Because they have the best hardware, and while touchwizz in the past has been terrible, its actually not that bad lately. It's fairly close to stock and the features it adds are good enough where I wouldnt install a different ROM.

Also, a lot of the market share is still from back in the S2/S3 days when they were seen as the only android manufacturer that could stand up to apple (at least amongst normies).

I've experienced it recently.

I live in a city of about 300k people, and it's the only city of this size within hours.

ATT doesn't have signal for shit here. Verizon has 4g signal that is strong the entire drive from here to all the other major cities within a few hours drive.

Where we are hopefully moving this summer, the signal is fine on both. However, if you go outside the city to go hiking, or visit the cute old west towns that dot the highways, ATT shits itself, while Verizon retains 4G LTE fucking everywhere.

ATT can fuck themselves in the ass.

yeah I've heard that, but it's the only provider that gives consistent LTE in the Shenandoah Valley which is why I prefer it

Thing is that back glass and unibody metal isn't premium.

We have to put an end to this shit.

What I want is a phone with a rigid metal frame, and a strong rubberized whatever back. Those are the toughest phones.

They already have the 2nd screen software written, what the fuck do you think an update is going to do? The notification screen isnt part of stock android, so a stock android update shouldnt change a god damn thing about it.

It will require zero extra work to update, unless LG wants to specifically update the features of the 2nd screen, but that again is not something that will cause major delays.

That's like saying the Spen on the Note5 is going to cause the note5 updates to be supppper slow since no other android device uses a stylus. Guess what though, the note5 is getting 6.0 in december, sooner than almost every other android phone.
