I gave up the full time job life a few years ago. Now I just work when I feel like it. At the moment, I'm a "SAP specialist" by title, make about $800 a day. I've been working around SAP and other ERPs for about a decade now.

I'm in Sydney, Australia.

chan It is exactly how it works, tho.

The USD is strong because of US shale oil and fracking making US independent of oil imports. The NOK is weak because Asian countries trying to dump the oil price to make Americans bankrupt.

1 USD is today ~8.7 NOK

In september 2013 it was around ~6.5 NOK

So tempted just to leave it and get a shitty part time retail job. Or go back to uni to study something real like engineering.

>>51326674
That sucks.

Idk if its for every field in aus, but every job i've had paid overtime..
Hell even when I was a scummy kid my guy would give me a bigger cut of cash from drugs on holidays as a sort of overtime/holiday bonus equivalent.

But afaik we've got some pretty tough unions and a working mans culture on top of it.
>>
>>51326696
Is that a good field job wise?
I was shit in school so I'm going to a trade school at the moment to get a diploma in networking, we learn cisco and MS stuff, and i've got a generally good handle of the linux stack from tinkering as a hobby.

I'm hoping I can get a job with just a diploma, if after a few months of job searching I can't ill just lie on my resume on entry jobs and say i've got more experience than I do.
>>
>>51326721
It's fantastic. From what you said you'd probably be fine. First year of at least what I did was a little degrading as it was simple shit and I thought I made a mistake but it picks up fast. Very interesting shit too. One out of the 6ish people I know who went for compsci have a job in the related feel and I had one in less than a year after leaving school. Cisco is important
>>
>>51326790
From your experience do you think people will hire someone with a diploma rather than a degree?

Does the field have the kind of bosses that if they wanted higher education eventually they'd allow one to work with less hours to go to uni to get a degree?

The good thing about my diploma is it cuts the first year of uni off if i ever intend to go to uni.

Idk the whole formal education for it seems strange to me though, honestly I knew nothing about windows servers, active directory and stuff, so its good I learned that, but when i was learning it, it was nothing google and a VM couldn't of taught me..

I guess its got a lot to do with experience too, they assume a uni student will have learned a lot more and be more comfortable (which is true, i'd assume, I'm not a uni student)

I just want a real job man, i've been a checkout chick/pc repairman for too long.

Plus it'd be fun to rub it in the faces of the smug cunts I went to school with, network engineer sounds like some higher level intellect shit to normies.

Any type of case when it comes to litigation but get assigned cases that involve technology in any form. Also work as a consultant on the side when it comes to integrating programs into the field.

Nope. Thats the old, big corps that have huge hierarchies of tradition-minded leaders. I work in Shibuya, almost all dev firms based around here are completely informal.

No need to wear suits and stuff like the big companies, no big bosses whose asses you must lick. CEO's desk is next to mine.

Work starts at 10am and 6, 1-2 hour lunch break whenever you want. Free drinks in a fridge nearby.

Basically the startup environment.

Japan is changing, honestly I'm surprised at the change here too.
