I just make up a moderately long sentence that sounds retarded.

What are you doing Anon?

It's like you don't care about security
>>
Just fucking use Keepass. It's not hard.
>>
What's annoying is when they limit you from having certain characters in your password, like spaces or certain types of punctuation. It's like they're trying to intentionally decrease entropy.
>>
>>51299716

If I were a cracker, brute forcing passwords would be super easy with instruction manuals like this.
>>
>auto password reset every couple of months

fuck.

you.

>mfw everyone had notes to some extend with passwords on them
>mfw that one teacher constantly visiting the IT department because he could not remember his password and there was no password reset

At some point I wondered why the fuck we didn't have smartcard authentication instead of this bullshit, but then I remembered that the sysadmin in charge was a fucking faggot with napoleon's complex that constantly needed to show his epenis status.

I don't think you understand the technology, Anon.

Admittedly, without the budget for smart cards most of these are good security practices, including
>mfw everyone had notes to some extend with passwords on them

Aside from
>required usage of special characters, mixed upper and lower case, longer than 16 characters

And what good would the IT department be if there's no password reset?

Or they just pull your name from the db and test it before encrypting the password.
>>
>>51299716

god fucking dammit, what they fuck do these shit services like paypal think a password is even for

also this thread needs a trigger warning. these peoples idea of security is to force you into a bubble with only so many options which ends up making password cracking just as fucking easy

Use song lyrics and replace spaces with special characters. Be thankful they don't force you to use non dictionary words. Or use keypass
>>
>>51302517
if you think about it, you're literally storing your passwords for each site in a centralized area. You're making the job of cyberattackers even easier

>>51299716
Fuck this. Seriously, why can't we stop this for systems that password lockouts. If I have another windows admin telling me this is best practice they get a kick in the vagina.

Meanwhile in network land there are systems that have shared/unchanged passwords that and dictionary words.

Also fuck 30 day limits. Decreases security on everything. Password resets are too common and IT just pushes them through. You have people with six character passwords because it is something like:
passw0rdJan
passw0rdFeb
passw0rdMar

Fuck you OP. Fucking triggered
