can I mix and match ram types? Let's say i have a set of 8gb in my computer and wanted to add 8 more. However, the heatspreders on the same brand are far too high to fit under my heatsin.

Is there a risk with connecting ps2 devices of unknown source to my computer.
I am asking from a malware standpoint. Not an electrical one by the way.
>>

Usually, you can. Better chances of no problems if they have the same timings.
Heat-spreaders don't matter at all (and are useless anyway)

I have a bunch of info from some audio files stored in a json file, just a bunch of metadata (artist, album, etc.). I'd like to create an html catalog using that information, something very simple like just a search bar and of course the results. Mind you this is all local I'm not going to deploy it anywhere.

Could you help me by pointing out what do I need to know to make this project work? Like 'You need to know about templating, ajax, and json is no good for this.' and I'll take it from there. Thank you.

Are velcro ties bad to use for case cable management? Zip ties are kind of a pain and I've heard twist ties are bad because of the metal inside them and I'm wondering if these might be a better alternative, but I'm worried that they might build up static.

These are the ones I'm looking at: http://www.amazon.com/VELCRO-ONE-WRAP-Self-Gripping-Cable-Reusable/dp/B001E1Y5O6/

I still preffer Zip ties i got like atleast 12 boxes of diferent sizes and types around here.

I only use Velcro ties for exterior cable management.

No. The most malware could do from a PS/2 device would be to send random input to your computer, it has no way of reacting to anything.

What's the performance difference between newer and older gen intel CPUs?

I'm still running an i5 750 @2.7ghz 1156 socket from about 6 years ago. And looking at the new 1151 CPUs they're still offering 2.7ghz models? Is there some other factor that affects performance or has the desktop CPU market stagnated that much?

Stupid question for a friend: he's going to buy a PC (apparently prebuilt is cheaper in New Zealand) that has a AMD A8–7650K and an R7 360. Does the 7650k even support graphics with the R7 360?

One more question, bit less stupid. I need to upgrade my CPU as it was bought as a placeholder, since I was on a tight budget when I bought my parts. I'm currently running an AMD FX-4200, but even OC'd, it's still lagging behind. Not bad for a $60 chip, but that's not the point. I'm thinking of upgrading to either an FX-8320 or an i5. My question is: is it worth cost the change my mobo and spent $180 on a CPU, or should I go for the easier but still significant upgrade of an 8320?

My laptop stopped recognizing my hard drive out of the blue. I turn it on and it tells me that it can't detect a boot device. I removed the hard drive, put it back in, and that did nothing. A friend recommended that I try using knoppix, but obviously I'm unable to do anything since knoppix isn't magically recognizing my drive. fdisk -l only lists my flash drive so I have no idea where to go from here. Is there any chance that my drive can be salvaged, or am I just fucked? I can provide additional information if necessary.

I never safely eject my thumbdrive. Windows says it has a problem, but all of my data seems to be fine. What's going on:

a.) I'm fucking up my thumbdrive in a way that I don't realize yet,

b.) My thumbdrive is particularly robust compared to others,

c.) Modern thumbdrives generally don't need to be "safely ejected" and it's really just a suggestion?

>>
>>51305248
>just put the windows and apple logos

>>51305213
Idk
It's good for how simple it is, but obviously the more work you put in it, the more you're willing to put pictures colours, ink etc to make it look more professional and catch the eye the better your results so it's up to you where you want the trade off

I don't know shit about advertising or design either but if you're going with that simple style, maybe you could find a different way to layout your information

I'm not saying that there's necessarily anything wrong with your current layout if you're keeping things scaled back, but if you are keeping things scaled back I think it's one of the only components you can change

the others being language, font, and eye catching symbol/image/whatever you use

I just want to make sure I'm understanding my calc 2 homework.

I want to confirm that the series in pic is convergent if we use the P-Test based on the following:

Since 1/(n^2 + 6n + 13) < 1/(n^2) and the sum of 1/(n^2) from 1 to infinity converges by the P-Test with p = 2, we can say that the series 1/(n^2 + 6n + 13) from 1 to infinity also converges, right???

thank you in advance. love you.

How well does it work? Ive been using xpadder but its not a great solution for some games. Managed to solve my own problem by searching the right log things on google.

The solution was to compile it in something other than the default editor, TexWorks, that comes with MiKTeX and switching to TeXMaker instead. Apparently this is a known bug that is fixed by compiling it in a different program. Supposedly TeXWorks should just work now, but fuck that. This looks like a better editor anyway.

I have a question about task scheduling.

I have a mediaPC connected to my TV and surround speaker system with Windows on it.

I want to make the change to Linux, but the Windows box has 1 very specific feature I'm not sure if I can recreate on Linux.

The Windows Task Scheduler allows me to turn my computer off at a certain time. I know I can do this easily with cron, but the Task Scheduler checks if I'm busy and then waits for me to finish.

So if I set my computer to turn off at 22:30, if I'm watching something at 22:30 it'll wait for me to finish watching, then turn off the computer automatically after 10 minutes of idle.

How do I do this on Linux? It's such a specific thing that googling didn't help much.

Basically, my problem is that I cannot open GNOME applications (like nautilus or evolution) from the shell by clicking on their icons (either via the super menu or through desktop icons). 1. having HURDUR 7 VIDYA PORTS does not equate to 7 available monitors. Because I've had 3 cards now that have had that many outputs only to later require some super specific fucking adapter to get them working.

2. none of the spec sheets explain this, ever.

3. Even if I get a card with 3x dp, 1x HDMI and 1x DVI, there's no guarantee they'll work with cable converts to my monitors.
