Are chinese baytrail/cherry trail tablets better running on Windows or Android? Are they easy to flash either one?

The Chuwi hi8 pro and some teclast with cherry trail CPUs come out later this month for under 100$. If their reviews are good I might get one, else if they have problems I'm getting the older Chuwi vi8 ultra.

Most seem to run x86 windows versions. Not sure how locked down their bootloaders are.
I wouldn't buy a windows tablet with less than 2GB of RAM though. Using virtual memory for program fucking sucks.
