Nexus 5 died cause the fucking mobo connector came too loose. Soo now I flashed my evo 4g and have it limping along by today's standards.
Think I can score a working mobo? Maybe find a broke screen nexus 5 for about $50 or do I just need to bite the bullet and get a new phone?

You know how much more effective a fingerprint scanner would be if those front facing cameras did some basic video analysis to make sure people were actually using their finger? Make the user show the finger to the camera to look for evidence of a fake fingerprint and then use that finger without going outside the camera field of vision. Probably too much hassle for the average iPhone user which is further proof that fingerprint scanners are more convenience than security. Tinfoilers know it's more surveillance than convenience.

Not OP but own same model. No such problem here. Before lollipop update, the audio driver would crash and i had to restart the phone. Now sometimes when i use phone in the morning, keyboard doesnt open and i have to restart.

hmm thanks, xt1032 just to be sure? I've flashed a few roms and don't really remember if I had this issue on kitkat (used lollipop stock for like a week). Guess I'll spend today flashing some random aosp fork roms to see if it helps. Or go back to kitkat if all else fails, or check with the stock rom

I managed to root mine and I'm the most tech illiterate person on /g/. I was even using a Mac and have no idea how to use the Terminal.It took me two days though.
I haven't done anything since rooting it though. I think rooting was just a waste of time.

Having an old Android phone is really dangerous if you want security. Old Windows Phones are amazing in their own way- every single Lumia gets their software update at the same time no matter if you bought it from a carrier or not. Lumia 635 owner here. If I sported for the 1GB variant I'd be set, 512mb just isn't enough if you're switching apps often.

The Lumia 1520 is the last phone I'll ever need.

Still have one of these as well, but I've only been able to keep it working so long because the USB port is on a replaceable cable and not soldered to the motherboard. I've replaced it twice, and also had to replace the extended battery I have after it swelled up. (Then Hyperion sent me a replacement so now I swap the batteries every week or so.)
Not planning to replace it until I break the screen or can't find an updated ROM.
