Its been a while since I've seen one of these posts here. Post your favourite neat terminal tricks that you want to share with fellow anons!
I'll start: Use this image as input to aplay.aplay rtuxdoc2.png
# Show 'dd' progress
pkill -USR1 '^dd$'
# rename + resize images (from camera) using "fancy" expansion
for i in *.JPG; do convert -resize 50% "$i" "${i%.*}.jpg"; done
# rename directories to lowercase
rename 'y/A-Z/a-z/' *
# scrape yt urls
curl -s <url> | html2text | grep -Eo "http.*youtu.*\s?" | sort -u
This seems neat
>tab
Use it to auto complete a filename if its exists
>using regular expressions
Look them up.

Fucking beautiful op
cat /dev/urandom | espeak
https://github.com/sivel/speedtest-cli
Good so that you don't have to visit the bloated speedtest.net site.
C^e in bash to edit currently typed command in $EDITOR, quitting editor executes it. C^o runs command but keeps it in the little buffer, so you can hold it to keep running it.
does any anon can post the code to make music using the terminal
