get an HDMI to DVI converter, they cost like $2.
Now delete the thread and go back to reddit.
No friend if you are using a PS3 then you must use a DVI to HDMI adapter, as not only does that monitor not have HDMI, your PS3 does not have a DVI connector.

So no go?
>>51283272
Dvi into this?
>>51283330
that's HDMI, but yes, there are cheap HDMI to DVI converter cables and adapters
you won't get sound then anymore though, you'll need to plug some speakers in your PS3 as well
>>51283351
I have a USB headset that uses the red/white cords, no worries there

I was just about to go out and buy an HDMI to VGA converter for a monitor I just got from a friend, because that's what they recommended.
The monitor also has DVI, and you're saying to use that instead.. Why is it better?

Isn't it wonderful senpai?

DVI = HDMI without sound.
DVI/HDMI are digital, VGA is analog.
VGA doesn't support higher resolutions.
Solution:
1. Get HDMI cable
2. Get HDMI to DVI adapter for 3$
3. Plug one end of the HDMI cable to the PS3
4. Plug other end of the HDMI cable to the adapter
5. Plug adapter into the monitor
6. Turn on TV
7. Turn on Console
