So my friend calls himself a hacker, laughs at others who can't "hack" and says Kali Linux (which he runs in a virtual machine) is the best Linux-distribution there is and that it's "sooo cool for hacking".
What do you think of it?

it's great for pen testing, but why people use it as a daily use OS, no idea.
There's a fedora spin called "security labs" which contains all popular pentesting software you may need (just like kali) for being le ebin haxor but without making you an autist everywhere you show

Thinking a screwdriver is a wonderful icepicker, he's bragging about the icepicker he found in the workshop, and how the workshop is wonderfully full of icepicks.
Basically exactly what the bros above me said although I use kali on a live USB(32Gb) with persistence with the only intention being to pen test. Whether it be WiFi or http

Literally nothing besides pentesting that other distros can't do better.
I'd use Ubuntu/Linux Mint for introductory linux users
Gentoo/Arch for muh bleeding edge
Debian for daily use
and OpenBSD for servers.
You realize most if not all tools on Kali can be installed on other linux distros right? There's nothing special about Kali other than it being centralized.
>>51280615
of course because everything you read on the internet is true right OP

> Debian for daily use

you probably don't know how to install debian correctly if you think the software is that old

I'm an arch bleeding edge fag muh friend

Kali Linux 2.0 is shit too many issues what I find funny is its based off like Debian 8 and the same issues I had installing Debian 8 I had with Kali Linux 2.0 :B
>>51279902
xd i bet u dont even hak fgt
KALI is teh coolest *nix ther is 4 teh ha><0rz

Am I wrong for thinking Brute forcing is hacking the same way DDoSing is? It just feels like "When all you have is a hammer". There's no intelligent exploits or security wholes to breach, it's just throwing power at something until it cracks.
It's like the definition of being a skid, because it doesn't require you to have any kind of real knowledge or skills.

>the best Linux-distribution there is

If it was "the best" general pupose distribution, he should obviously run it on bare metal an not in a VM.
>>51279919
This. It's not a general purpose distro, and not even recommended by its makers to be installed to hard disk (no matter if bare-metal or VM).
>>51280901
This is true

Stop posting your shitty site you fat fucking autist.
Can you use a man in the middle attack on a website?
I know that the security of banking websites in my country are abysmal, it's really shit.
What kind of attack is a candidate to do on such websites, mostly from doing online payments.
