Why not Ada?

Why don't we use Ada? Is there one real reason we don't other than "I'm lazy and strong typing males me sad"?

There's nothing wrong with Ada. It's a military grade language where the GNU implementation is the official one, which should make it all kinds of attractive for open source systems programming. I guess that most people just prefer to write higher level code, or in languages where there are an assload of libraries relevant to the problem domain, or both.
Because Ada is just the government's NIH C++.
