either you bought a really bad laptop or fell for the mechanical keyboard meme

There is nothing wrong with attaching whatever peripherals you like to a laptop.
The laptop's value is that you strictly do not have to do that, as there are perfectly serviceable peripherals built in.

If you use the laptop keyboard, the laptop monitor is not at eye level.
So, laptop on a stand to be at eye level, and external keyboard and mouse to stay with elbows at a 90° angle.
Bonus points for a second monitor.
For example at home I have all peripherals attached to the monitor. I just plug the hdmi and a usb in the laptop, and I have a fine dual monitor setup.
In the lab where I'm working now I put the monitor on a couple of thick books, and I attach keyboard and mouse to the laptop.
It's mainly for ergonomics.

I don't know man, but I just bought a car, but somehow I don't feel like driving it, so I bought another car to tow it around the city.

I use an external Keyboard, mouse and an external drive. Thinking of buying a speaker and a wireless hub. I am going through a rough patch in my life.
Fuck you, lenovo.
>laptop users
>buying overpriced machines because muh portability and muh minimalism
>end up doing actual work by a normal table and not on a train or on a tree
>getting external hard drives, external keyboards and mice, external speakers and external monitors because laptop ones don't quite cut it

I use an external keyboard because my roommate spilled soda in my laptop keyboard. I also have it hooked up to a mouse, monitor, speakers, and router semi-permanently since I have a smaller/lighter computer that I carry around with me anyway.

>Implying ergonomics matters in a field full of chainsmoking, drunk drug abusers.

Not all people on /g/ are NEETs.

I have been travelling from town to town; If I had some stability I would build a PC like I did ages ago.

Furthermore I break my system very often, I cannot rely on my internal storage (which is only 500Gb).
>>51259206
Depends, if your laptop keyboard is shit you have every reason to use an external keyboard.
>>51261239
If you have a workspace assigned to you, use a docking station.
>>51261424
>muh portability
I actually leave my basement once in a while
>external HDD
I don't hoard data, I barely use over 50GB on my drive
>external keyboard
the chinkpad one is actually comfy
>external mice
well yeah, mouse > touchopad
>external speakers
not really needed
>external monitor
good thing to have at home, more screen estate is always welcome and buying a 17" laptop is retarded

This guy gets it.

I work remotely but I'm not very productive at home so I go to the library or a cafe. My work machine is a $180 Chromebook running Arch. It gets the job done and it'd be quite a stretch to call that "overpriced".

I'm working on a thesis in a uni lab.
I have no budget. I just make do with what I have:
books and monitor/peripherals taken from older, shittier desktop computers.
