Answer is still HELL NO. The computer is worth on the order of $500. The display is actually very good except that it's paired with a computer which is dog shit. The display is vastly overkill for normal tasks and the computer is too crap to use for serious video editing.

Have you ever actually fucking used OS X? It's FILLED with animations and effects, many of which cannot be disabled. It runs like shit on anything except the newest hardware.
And then you're paying $2000 for the monitor. That's not worth it. Most users won't even notice the monitor. People who actually use it, i.e. design professionals, will need more power than this PoS can offer.
