How did I do /g/?
$600 bucks on this Netbook, I'm rather content with it.
My biggest compliant is shitty drivers in the trackpad, but aside from that rather stable
Budget thread I guess

Ugh. 1366x768. Why. How big is this laptop? Screen size I mean. Anything over 12 inches at that resolution looks like trash. Also
>acer
Not even once. Every Acer I've ever had the misfortune of working on was a chinsy piece of shit. Terrible plastic. Even worse construction. Used to overheat like no one's business.
This was based off of a $500 best buy special several years ago. Have they gotten any better?
If not for that screen resolution or it being Acer, not bad. What cpu is it?

Personally an Acer fan, had an Acer Aspire 1410 netbook, lasted forever, was a total trash machine in general though
This things got a 5th gen i7

Not bad. Honest question though. Why acer for $600. I mean not everyone likes thunkpads I know but for $600, you could have gotten a good x230, or something from dell. I dunno man. Guess Ive just not had good luck with acers. I owned one myself before returning it 2 days later. Had a 3rd gen i3 in it. Ran so hot just streaming youtube at 720p that the keyboard itself would get hot to the touch.
So long as you're happy with your purchase, ignore nay sayers like me.
>im actually a big fan of Gateway. Had 2 laptopa from them. One had a aingle core intel celeron and lasted for 7 years before the cpu burnt out.
2nd laptop had an athlon dual core mobile chip and radeon 4350 gpu chipset. Ran WoW like a champ.
>gateway is garbage bargin bin tier now :(
It's gonna get posted anyway so I'll just say it. Should've got a ThinkPad.

I bought it at a local store, it's also hard to find a fifth gen i7 and a NVIDA 840 in a compactish laptop for that price range. Plus I really know my way around Acer hardware, I've spent a very long time working them. I know Lenova is all the rage right now, just doesn't feel nearly as economical for what your getting to me. I bought what was available to me from a local store I should mention, so this felt like a godsend.

>150$ coding machines
For 150$ with the sole purpose of shitposting and writing in Perl, theres no better option.
>>51249188
Meh,
I know where your coming from and your honestly right, but my fragmented sense of laptop pride prevents me from swallowing them.
I've still got my old Acer Aspire netbook for that, it's got almost the same specs as a chromebook....
Programming and VN's are about all its used for these days

Not too sure what that one is like, the older ones you're better off for in terms of cost and build quality. Honestly though if you're happy with your purchase and you've been fine with Acer before then I really wouldn't worry. I just tend to be put off consumer grade laptops. If you take care of it you'll be okay though. You're gonna get stick here either way.
