Same thing here, the only interesting shit out there is in open source. And gl finding a decent paying job there. Used to contribute to open source constantly when I was in university, real work programming just literally killed every little bit of fun in it for me. This is why I'm IT.
Not that much less money, but it's a lot more fun and way easier. Most of my day is just bullshitting and goofing off with the rest of the IT department and getting paid 80k a year, which is all I need to maintain my minimal lifestyle in the city.
