Firefox is so fucking based now. Who /new version/ here?

>that transition when enlarging videos
>that mute tab feature
>that everything else
>>
>>51230997
The tab sound is something I've been waiting for them to implement and the video enlarging looks much nicer than the old one on youtube.

What else is there?
>>
>>51230997
Since the update I can no longer watch videos in the browser. But youtube/html5 says that I have everything needed. Is this only me?
>>
>>51231369

try disabling all addons.
>>
>>51230997
No amount of trickery can convince me to use that piece of shit ever again. Chrome is everything Firefox is trying to become, which is stupid and batshit crazy trying to become a clone of another browser.

Do your own thing Mozilla and innovate instead of playing catch up.

[Posted from Chrome 46, 64-bit]
>>
>>51231777
They're trying to clone Chrome, but thankfully they aren't doing a very good job. They have not succeeded in totally ruining the browser, try as they might.
>>
guys I need some help. I disabled webrtc in firefox, but if I go to test out if it is still leaking information it is. Any way for me to prevent this?
>>
>>51231836
It won't matter to the retards with too much free time on their hands. In the practical world, Chrome is the fastest and most reliable browser.

Firefox/Vivaldi/Opera/IE/Safari are all failed abortions and irrelevant without the diverse Chrome extensions.
>>
>>51231777
>Chrome is everything Firefox is trying to become
Firefox is trying to become an information collection device for Google?
>>
>>51231888
>irrelevant without the diverse Chrome extensions
The fuck are you on about? FF is the browser with the best extension ecosystem, not Chrome.
>>
>>51231920
Which explains why they ditched their own extension ecosystem to in favor of Chrome extensions.

So much for originality.
>>
im waiting for tab muting to go in the stable builds

Are you on 42.0?
>>
>>51230997
>>that transition when enlarging videos
the most annoying thing indeed. It's totally fluid with Opera, but just hangs for roughly 1s with Firefox. I sticked to 38.x.
>>
>>51232110
In a year or so all existing Firefox addons will be broken unless they port over to their new Chrome compatible shit.
>>
>>51231979
>>51232110
I dont think this is chrome extensions: https://wiki.mozilla.org/WebExtensions
>>
>>51232163
Nigger they only broke npapi or some shit
that's for plugins and basically for low-level code aka shit like flash
>>
>>51232156
Yeah. and apt says there are no updates pending so idk

>>

>That slow as shit smooth scrolling.
>That millennia it has pass before showing elements when you open a new tab.
>That fuckload of ram consumed for every extension, for every tab.
>That lack of customization, still using a fucking sidebar for downloads.
>>
>>51232565
Firefox is FINISHED
>>
>>51232588
It was clear that they would do that. Chrome does not have this and Mozilla tries to be not anti competitive... Or they have the feeling that they are simply not Chrome enough yet.

Conspiracy theory: Google demanded this?
>>
>>51232637
Its also possible that the only reason Google hasn't implemented support for "complete themes" in Chromium was to spare Firefox
>>
How do I disable that stupid video enlarging fade shit?
>>
>>51232964
about:config
full-screen-api.transition-duration.enter
full-screen-api.transition-duration.leave

Set both to 0 0 to get rid of it

I set mine to 50 50, much faster fade/out in, which I prefer over nothing since the HTML5 video full screen transition has always been rather clunky on my end.
>>
>that fuckton of bloat
FF would be a lot more successful if it was lightweight, instead it's a more bloated and less stable version of chrome
>>
>>51233087
You can disable the bloat though if you're a peasant with 2GB ram

Yeah, I realized at once that was a stupid question and just googled it, I fixed it instantly. It looks better both completely removed and with a quick fade, like 50 50.

However I still get this shit, even after setting
full-screen-api.approval-required
to false. Do you know how to fix this one?
>>
>>51231777
Chrome even has some shit Firefox will never catch up on, like botnet.
>>
>>51233348
IT'S OVER FIREFOX IS FINISHED
IT WILL NEVER HAVE BOTNET HAAHAH
>>
>firefox will not be able to be fully customizable in the near future
>we will have to use that butt ugly default skin and can only recolor through stylish

Worst business decision ever, these retards think that the reason chrome is relevant it's because people can't customize it? Fucking idiots at mozilla don't know I only use this shit because I can rice it enough to match my distro.

Fucking idiots.

Hard to believe how much a difference this makes. Much faster page rendering.

Let me guess: you're short, from a single parent family, and have no moral standards at all.
>>
Recently switched over from google crumb.

Happy with my choice.
>>
I just disabled the stupid transition in about:config.

search for 'transition' and change enter and leave from 200 200 to 0 0.

The mute tab is something Chrome already had for like a year iirc.
>>
>>51235573

oy vey

also it sucks because instead of serving you relevant search results, they serve you relevant ads instead

I`ve been using alternate search engines and they`re on par these days, minus the ads

fuck google

>>

first thing I looked up after upgrading to 42. Solution is either wait for 43 for the option to toggle this in about: config or add "@-moz-document url("chrome://browser/content/browser.xul") {#full-screen-warning-container {display: none;}}" to your userchome.css

This piece of shit reenabled itself after updating to 43.0b1, what did i had to search in about:config to remove it again?
>>
>>51231839
Random agent Spoofer + noscript
>>
Firefox crashes non-stop for me for some odd reason, the only add-on I had enabled was ublock origin and I had to quit Firefox and restart in it's built in safe mode. It also crashes every time I try to open an embedded YouTube video on 4chan. What's going on?
>>
>>51238539
Backup bookmarks and other settings then create a new profile, solves most Firefox problems.
>>
>>51231777
How do you even live without noscript, requestpolicy, refcontrol, and self-destruct cookies?

I'd rather deal with firekek's bullshit then let the jews data mine me at every turn.
>>
>>51238539

try the 64 bit build

I always have performance issues with 32 bit builds
>>
>>51235277
If you set it to "0" Firefox should render sites instantly but longer. The more value, the more opposite effect you introduce.
>>
>>51238609
Didn't work for me unfortunately, even after uninstalling and running CCleaner on anything left behind, keeps crashing, had to install the 64bit version of Nightly instead and now it works like a dream. Forgot why I even stopped using Nightly in the first place.

>>51238807
That could have been it as well but I decided to switch back to Nightly after a year of not using it, once Nightly breaks it's back to Firefox again and vice versa.
>>
>>51232128

posting from firefox nightly

I installed it yesterday and I'm actually impressed with performance, I don't know if Firefox got better or Chrome is just getting shittier.

I'm going to use it exclusively for a week and if I like it, I'm staying with it.
