I get it, this is not my personal tech support team.
But I've googled my fucking fingers off and have arrived at asking in a thread.
Inherited an ex-school computer, the thing is it completely wipes clean every time I turn it off. Is there a way to reverse this kind of thing? I just want to be able to actually utilize this laptop.
Return the laptop Tyrone

Just buy a new cheap hdd and rom that are identical in size/shape to the ones you have at the moment.

I'll give you that is a solution. However the whole point of this free laptop is that I didn't have to invest anything, which I hope to continue.

Reinstall the OS.

Just pirate a copy of Windows 7 ultimate. Easiest shit ever.
Also try going into the BIOS settings and seeing if there's any options relating to wiping on restarts. Reset everything to defaults if possible.

Dont turn it off.

Give back the school's property, please

the laptop is probably using deepfreeze or someshit
if you can determine the software used, you can google how to remove it
