Pretty much. The fact that they could cram a 2.6 GHz i7 15W CPU + a dedicated gpu with gddr5 vram and be able to run it on a battery crippled detached tablet mode and still get more than an hour of battery life is insane.
However if you must use it as a tablet you can obviously downclock the CPU to 1GHz to get more than 3 hours of battery life.

Except they can't, the dGPU is in the base so you only have Intel graphics if you pull the screen off.
You can flip the screen around though and use it as a big heavy tablet while attached t the base.

Be careful with this assumption >>50764468 is right. Only the more expensive models come with the keyboard that has the dGPU.
What I want to know is if in the future a docking station could have a dGPU built into it. Just imagine being able to plug a Surface Pro 4/5 and get gtx 970/980 based graphics. This really could lead to some interesting ideas by blending what it means to own a latop/tablet/desktop. Imagine the device that replaces it all.

Rumors are it's either a 950m or 960m. Sadly only 1 gb of ddr5 vram is kind of disappointing, especially considering the integrated graphics has basically 2 gb of vram.
