Anyone still use abandonware?
>>
Yeah, I've still got a realplayer clip buffering from 1997
>>
>>47767960
does GTA san andreas count as abandonware?
>>
I use windows live writer for blogging. Nothing beats it.
>>
>>47768091
I guess so...
>>
>>47768091
Not if they can still send you a dmca
>>
>>47768091
games are exempted. A good game never gets old or boring, no matter the age.
>>
Yes, I'm using qBittorrent.
>>
Does Android count?
>>
TrueCrypt
>>
>fired
That's probably something one could put on a resume here in degeneracy land
>>
If I still had a windows machine I'd still be using SamSpade the DNS/net tools utility
>>
>>47767960
Yeah, I have a Windows machine laying somewhere.
>>
Yes, I use Debian.

TrueCrypt, WinAmp, VisualBoyAdvance, Gazzera
>>
RealPlayer was never good, and you keep using it...
>>
I still use some pretty old tech bilingual dictionaries and a kickass digital version of the Routledge Encyclopedia of Philosophy.

It's the same as the printed encyclopedia, but it sure is more comfortable than going through 4000+ pages of text to find anything.

my man

can't find a suitable replacement
>>
My LG phone is basically abandonware. LG hasn’t updated it since the time it came out, no new Android for it, no support... nothing.

As soon as you buy an Android phone, it becomes immediately abandonware.
>>
>>47767960
I use crunch bang.
>>
Would utorrent 2.2.1 count ?
I would really like to move to something better but I can't be arsed to move and import 1000+ torrents.
>>
>>47771099
Foobar2000
>>
>>47771240
what does it provide over winamp?
>>
>>47771099
I ended up moving to clementine. Its not as modable GUI wise but its got most of the same feature set.
>>
>>47771275
the thing is i don't really have any issues with winamp. it plays music, that's all i need it for.
>>
Runescape
>>
>>47771321
osrs is going pretty strong though.
>>
Only games.

That said, I used to use old versions of certain software. After uTorrent 1.6, I used legacy version of uTorrent until I found better alternatives.
>>
>>47771247
It's got "2000" in the name.
>>
>>47771306
I only ever had problems getting it to properly detect my phone. Sometimes it was fine. Other times it refuses.
>>
>>47771247
It's not abandonware for starts.
Also, you can modify it to be whatever you want it to be without knowing shit about how you did it.
>>
>>47771629
you use your phone with winamp? why not just use explorer or your manufacturers software?
>>
>>47771700
He uses /v/indows. What do you expect?

I still have a Win2000 machine for Cubase SX3 and some ancient NI plugins (Kore, Vokator, Pro-53). I use WinAmp still.

When I feel like being a faggot I use MacOS 9 for some ancient Mac only stuff and Tiger with Logic Studio 7.

I just installed Crunchbang on a laptop yesterday.

First I installed Debian, then I realized that all I was doing was modifying it into Crunchbang and figured it would be easier to fix an abandoned distro when it breaks than to morph a modern distro into it.
>>
>>47772567
well played
>>
>>47773088
i was thinking of doing that, how did it go?
>>
>>47773142
It's a dream. I'd forgotten how much I relied on using the OpenBox keybindings they set up; they're so intuitive that you don't realize how much you miss them until you switch.

That said, I also use an X200 with no Trackpad or mouse so I guess I need them.

So far no major issues and apparently there are a couple different teams working on a distro Crunchbang++ to make up the slack, so there's a chance I'll switch to that when it's ready/stuff starts breaking. So far nothing's broken.
>>
>>47773088
Enjoy your security holes, holy shit. Just copy over your openbox and conky configs to debian. Or just switch the sources.list
>>
wasn't this the first youtube downloader

Aside from abandonware games (which I'm sure everyone plays) I've been toying with this VB6 application which automagically fixes TLB files once you register an OCX control.

It's from 1998, which was 25 years ago.
