I have never had a smart phone to really do apps with, but I'd imagine it would come down to an IRC client and maybe Steam's app for messaging. I'm sort of illiterate to the entire atmosphere around phones, which I honestly regret. But many clean notes apps had bad rating or i could not import old notes.

On my iPhone 6 Plus, I have, of course, the standards I mainly use: Safari, Messages, Phone, Contacts, Calendar, Notes. Weather is not necessary but nice for knowing how warm I should dress in the morning, and of course Clock gets me up in the morning. Mail thoroughly disappoints me, so I use the Gmail app. For media, I have Plex linked to my home computer (a Mac Pro, of course) along with Twitch.tv, Reddit, Imgur, Netflix, and my TV provider's own app. Your standard social apps like okcupid, Tinder, Yik Yak, Snapchat, Facebook Messenger, Kik, and I just found out about whisper. For news, NY Times, WNYC, and NPR News. iBooks for PDF and Marvin for all other e-books. And finally, Tetris, 2048, and Hearthstone because I'm a huge nerd (xD).
