my god, it is the best machine Iv ever used. its tiny, its fast, the screen is increadiable quality. get a pentium m 770, 775, or 780 with clock speed of at least 2.13 GHz for 770 or 2.26 for the 780. get 2 gb or ram, install linux mint on it, or whatever you want, just not windows. make sure the battery is ok on it. I have one with a 780 cpu (but its not real, I got scamed, locked at 1.7 GHz) 2 gb micron ram, arctic silver compound, the works. works great, love it, no lag, running mint 13 on it.

Other than that a clip on stand so it can rest on a table, a keyboard and a mouse are the best option, which is noting compared to a single device the same size with a keyboard and mouse built in.

If you know what you're doing, yes.
In CHROOT is easiest, but you can fully replace android. This would be easiest on motorola phones, as they just plain give you the drivers you need.
Phones and bootloaders, unlike, say, a typical windows pc, don't need to boot an install disk and install from there. You prebuild the machine's boot image on another machine, flash it to the memory and the boot loader looks at the memory, goes "That looks like an OS, imma start it" and then fucks off.
Once the image boots first it might reconfigure itself, but for the better part that's how stuff works.

I kinda would, but it's a keyboard problem to me.
Those things are way too small, and I would maybe use an okay BT keyboard with my phone, but all BT keyboards are shit, and the performance just isn't good enough either, because for some reason phones still struggle with basic text input my computer had no problem doing 20 years ago.
Ideally I need something around a 12" laptop, but those have all fucking disappeared, it's either 11" with a cramped keyboard or 13'3" that's bigger for no discernable advantage and not necessarily a good keyboard either because most laptop keyboards suck these days.
Fuck tablets, they truly ruined everything.
