>>47692395
Because you valued things like having friends on MySpace.

>>47692428
Not them, but when I was in high school, it wasn't uncommon to make meatspace friends on myspace. You know, people with similar interests who lived one city over from you or whatever. I never did it, but by the time I graduated, a good sized chunk of our circle of friends consisted of people we never would have known without the internet.

You can only be a true computer enthusiast if you have been using them from the stages of early childhood. My dad got our first computer in 1995 I think, when I was 4. It was a 133 MHz Pentium machine, and I think it had 16 MB of RAM and a 2 GB hard drive. It ran Windows 95. But I also used his work laptop at that time which was even worse, some Compaq machine, that ran Windows 3.1. Then the rest is history... grew up using machines that ran Windows 98 / SE, Windows ME, Windows 2000, XP, Vista, and 7, and also OS X 10.4 through 10.10.
In short, you're a pleb.

You don't fix the internet, because it's not broken. We live in the result of over 250+ years of electronic research, an age of information where it's impossible to control the flow of data through brute force. Even in China, people can still get pirated DVDs of US films.
If you are unsatisfied that your favorite websites have faded as it's userbases grew up, then find/make new ones and accept that this is the nature of digital information.
Also, Facebook will die just like AOL, Myspace and Digg did. It's just a software company. And in the US you can't get arrested for exercising your First Amendment rights, that's a problem only shit-tier countries have.
Welcome to the future. This is exactly what people like Bill Shockley and Claude Shannon slaved away to achieve.
By the way, you should read this, if you haven't already:

When did you celebrate your centenary, gramps?
>>47695023
>i don't know why you posted shannon's paper on information coding
Because if your read it, he explains the economic effect of it: that big monopolies like AT&T don't need to exist to provide quality and reliable digital service like they are needed for analog. It applies to media in general as well, because with digital information any idiot can easily just copy/paste info and spread it around just as easily as an actual news studio. We're living in that era, where information can't be banned by brute force. Otherwise, bittorrent would have died when the MPAA cried about it a decade ago.

I remember the design of YouTube back in 2009-2010 was the greatest.
I remember when you could watch someone's videos while browsing through their videos at the same time. And why did they have to make youtube channels look lifeless and boring with the only customization you can make is THE FUCKING TOP BANNER.
They also got rid of 5-star rating syste(they can go fuck themselves on that).
I wonder what goes through their heads when they design their fucking website, because they are not good

>I wonder what goes through their heads when they design their fucking website
