I ran Ethernet from the router in the living room to my room and keep all of my computer stuff in there. A lot of my stuff is either Apple or used enterprise equipment so if I ever see anyone messing with anything I tell them something along the lines of "Break it you owe me [insert no longer applicable new price of hardware here]", that seems to be the most effective.
