Chinkpad appretication special.
The keyboard isn't as bad as they warned it would be... it's less mushy but its missing that glorious 7th row and has a shitty layout.

Whats a good price for a W520, i7, with 4gb of ram? It doesnt include a power supply or a hard drive which isn't a big deal. I was thinking $300?
Opinions on the thinkpad yoga 14? What's a good price?
I asked this in the last thread and didn't get any replies.
I currently have an X200. She is still going strong, but it's time for an upgrade. I need something light and portable, but at least 1920x1080. I was considering a gen 3 X1 Carbon. I already have a desktop replacement laptop, so I'll probably still with the i5 line. Suggestions? Mistake?
what do you guys think about the t450s, I'm thinking about buying one, I've never had a thinkpad before
>>47568950
To expand on why I'm considering the yoga , I'm thinking of getting the Yoga 14, and I THINK I could swap the clickpad on it for a trackpad from the T450, as I believe the dimensions are the same. If that's a case, would (probably) be a better option than a T440p. Otherwise, I'll keep lurking for a decent price on an NVS T430, an i7 T430s, or a T440p.
Also I've never used a touch screen PC, but I bet I could do some nice things with it.
Anyone had a problem with the bottom bazel of the x220 screen getting marked? there's faint lines which looks like it was caused from contact with the mute/power button bar
Has anybody ran QEMU on an x220? It says kvm is enabled but im getting really bad performance.
It's a very resource light image im running, I don't think it should be this choppy.

If you want one with the 1920x1080 screen and quad core i7 it is going to be around 400+ easily.
Just replaced the HDD in my T60. Got all the drivers reinstalled and trackpoint+middle button scrolling doesn't work outside of Explorer. Anyone have any idea why?
>>47569272
It is bretty gud. Keyboard layout is shit and build quality isn't as good as older thinkpads, but otherwise is a nice laptop.

Dell XPS 13

Reinstall synaptic drivers
>>47570046
That worked, thanks. Something must have gone wrong the first time I installed it.

>We only deal with the T/W/X line here
*tips fedora*
T520 master race. thinking about a w520 for the better graphics though.

>not covering your webcam
also, why can't lenovo include pic related in newer thinkpads/chinkpads?
I want a tiny laptop to mess around with GNU/Linux on, and I want to be cool like you guys so I am looking at ThinkPads.
Which ones might fit the bill? I want as small a format as possible really, a laptop that borders on becoming a toy.
>>47571061
The one in your pic anon, x200s is great. Smaller tp then that is the x100 series which is crap.
>>47570839
Being this scared of the CIA seeing your cock
How much should I pay for a Series 3 Ultrabase for my x220 on Ebay?
>>47572011
20 bucks + shipping
>>47572334
Everyone on ebay sells it for 40+
>>47572348
Then $40+ shipping then
>>47572348
well shucks my man i dont know.
Why would buying an X1 Carbon be a bad idea? Besides the fact that it's "not a thinkpad" and "chinkpad" and ">Lenovo"?
What would a good price be on a gen 2 used? 600? 700? Assume best specs it can have.
>>47572459
gen 2 is almost unusable for me, no trackpoint buttons and shitty touch button f keys
gen 1 and gen 3 are alright, and the keyboard is not that bad, decent battery life. I'd rather have a t series but thats just me. avoid the TN panels
>>47572011
just get the mini series 3 dock nigga, $20 free shipping.
>>47572470
>shitty touch button f keys
Explain.
>>47572560
Nevermind, I figured it out. I want a gen 1 or a gen 3 I guess.
>>47572665
gen 3, 8 gb ram, 2440x1440 IPS (non touch version) is a pretty sweet machine, a bit pricey though, but in a month or so when intel releases the next line of processors, i bet we'll see 30-40 percent off of the stock
>>47570839
You physically would have to bypass the LED to let the sensor capture without it going off
>>47573104
Good to know.
