So I just ditched chrome for Firefox. Apparently it's much more customizable but I'm a Firefox newbie so I'm not sure where to start. What does /g/ customize in their browser?

Ublock(adblock without the Jew)(https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/ublock/)

Greasemonkey for some scripts(https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/greasemonkey/)

Cookiemanager to get into sadpanda(https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/cookies-manager-plus/)

Youtube downloader to download youtube videos(https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/youtube-video-and-audio-dow/)

That's all I have except for some addon that finds the alts accounts of people on the WoW forums and lists them under their avatar and name with a link to their armory as well as an addon that enables extra flags for /int/ and /pol/ for State flags or province flags.

I left Firefox for Vivaldi because it slows to all fuck once you do anything heavy (flash, videos, etc) and have lots of tabs. Vivaldi and anything else Chromium based use more RAM but multitasking doesn't cripple the entire browser so it works better.

I achieved this look with a theme, some extensions and a Stylish script. Not really sure what would appeal to you, but just for example you can use Stylish and Greasemonkey to make any part of your browser Aero like Windows.

I remember the dev of Bazzacuda Image Saver saying there would not be a version of his addon for Chrome because Chrome did not offer the functionality to make it work. It's an excellent addon, so it is probably worth checking out.

As someone already pointed out, you can easily download Youtube videos with Firefox addons. I use Flashgot, but you have plenty to choose form.

Is there a technical reason why there are 2 entries in under the application settings for PDF?

As firefox for me cannot preview pdf's I open with it now, it tells me unsupported format / file helper not found.

useful to create accounts on shitty websites asking for a registration to access their content

>uBlock Origin and uMatrix
For privacy and to kill Google

>Greasemonkey
Your life won't be the same with it. I installed 4chan-X and Oneechan scripts for 4chan, which you may find here : https://github.com/ccd0/4chan-x https://github.com/Nebukazar/OneeChan

I suggest you to tick the box "force noscript captcha" to avoid tracking. The new captchas are insane. You may prefer the catalog view enabled by default and randomization of your images is never a bad thing.

>Cryptocat
OTR-encrypted chat. You may find it here : https://crypto.cat

>HTTPS Everywhere
You should check your 4chan address : if it begins with http:// it means that everytime you're on a public wifi network (university, shop) anyone can make a bot and keep a log of everything you do. With this add-on you'll browse websites such as 4chan in HTTPS by default.

>Calomel
Useful to have a minimal idea of the security of the website you're browsing. It doesn't detect poodle attacks, for the record, but it shows stuff such as perfect forward secrecy or TLS.

>Priv8
To generate sandboxed tabs. It means you can connect to 4 or 5 Facebook accounts in the same window. It's rarely useful but it saves minutes connecting/disconnecting and frustration.

>Disconnect
Blocks some trackers. Used by Firefox in private mode out of the box.

>BetterPrivacy
Useful if you use Flash. I hope you don't need it.

Didn't want to start a new thread.

I just moved from Firefox to Chromium.
Is there a guide to get rid of the botnet as much as possible? I'm pretty sure I've seen it somewhere on /g/, but I can't find it anywhere.

Does anyone else's Firefox keep freezing when scrolling down threads?

I found this very useful, even as someone who has been using Firefox for a year. Didn't know about Bloody Vikings or Disconnect.
>>
>>52608039
Ghostery is a botnet that sells your data back to the people that it blocks from tracking

Besides private mode in Firefox now has built in tracking protection
>>
>>52617905
I don't know much about chromium but it's open source, so there's that
>>
Other than what has been mentioned, you can use Random Agent Spoofer to prevent browser fingerprinting to some degree. This is hardcore tinfoil hat material, though.
