What is the best price/performance build right now?
A thinkpad X220.
A Thinkpad TBLAZEIT :^)
CPU - choose
>FX 6300 - upgrade to a 9590 like 5 years from now when it costs like $100, keep motherboard
>860K if you're dumb
>A8 7600 if you don't play games and don't want to fuck with a GPU or overclock
GPU
>GTX 950 or 750 TI if you get one on sale
>2x8gb crucial ballistix sport RAM because RAM doesn't matter
>re-use old HDD unless you can get an SSD for nothing
>that $30 corsair or EVGA PSU that everyone buys
>the $29 rosewill case with two fans
>any $50 motherboard
will total to $400 or under and be good for like 5 years with no upgrades
i am god

>i am god
It's that what you call being poor and stupid.
>>52569715
it's clearly the best thing you'll make for the money
>>52569659
is this really it?
>>52570397
if you absolutely have to buy a new CPU and motherboard, yes. A 3 year old used i5 and motherboard will do a better job than the AMD though.
>>52569551
The one they pay you the most to haul away.
Used T420, and an external 750.
Atleast for me, ATM. Can get a decent 8 thread cpue t420, and a 750 ti for $140 CAD

haha no

T420 or X220 depending on if you want 12" or 14"
>>52570819
Post your PCpartpicker first. Not gonna do your job to get an actual price for your shitty build.
>>52569551
I have a lenovo g50 amd and so far i love it, its great for school and programming and is ok with gaming (15 fps on dying light and simulators, 30-50 fps elsewhere) great cooling and can be upgraded to have 16 gb of ram

Thnx m8.
Looks like shite.

That's surely going to work well.

This build. Dual Xeon E5520s, 650W PSU, 4GB RAM, 4 PCIe slots, 9 USB ports. $369
>>52571403
muh xeons
>4gb ram
ahaah
>>52571403
That's pretty lousy.

>>52571412
Yeah 4GB of RAM, its a workstation but RAM is dirt cheap so that shouldn't really matter. The processors are what makes it a good deal. The cheapest Xeon is around $194. Two of those alone is 388 which is already pricier than that entire build. You literally can't build a computer with dual Xeons for that price.
>>52571463
I like this one a lot, the only issues I see are only one processor, 2GB of RAM and no hard drive. 2 Xeons isn't really necessary, but the necessary RAM and hard drive upgrades will increase the overall price, unless you already have those of course.
Technically the best deal is a free computer. Infinite price/performance! Companies are even getting rid of early core i5 machines now.
>>52571539
Used RAM is cheap and a new hard drive is better than an old one. A $40 new 200MB/s 1TB is better than paying the $30 upgrade tax for an old 80MB/s 160GB.

is 220 dollars for a certified refurbished 420 good it has an i5
Rate? I though of this like an hour ago.
Dell Precision T5400 motherboard RW203 - $30
2x Xeon X5355 - $30 (2x Hyper212 EVO = $60)
Case already owned
Ram 8x2 DDR2 - $30-60
PSU Antec earthwatts 650 - $70-80
