Hello /g/, 3rd worlder here. The internet in my country is too slow, my internet connection is 256Kb/s, so my download speed is something around 25KB/s. The whole country's connection comes through undersea cables. How can this be fixed? How much does an Internet satellite cost? And how long will it take?

Actually, OP, you shouldn't listen to these /pol/ autists (as an European, excuse us for them).
They're full of shit. You can easily get speeds up to 1 Mbit/s with satellite internet. Even faster speeds are possible if your company uses the Ka band. The problem is that it will be expensive. I'd say it will be roughly 4 times more expensive than regular internet (by Belgian prices). Setting the dish etc. up is not too hard either if you know what you're doing. It should only take up an hour or two.
So yeah, if you have the money to burn I'd suggest just contacting an Egyptian company or franchise that is specialised in satellite internet.
That said there are still some tricks like
- changing your DNS server (for example to a Google one)
- getting a high quality filter box if you have DSL
- making sure that the reservable bandwidth of your system is limited
to make your internet a bit faster (all the little bits will count)

the problem is that ISP don't make money. the economy of scale is way off because the infrastructure for high-speed broadband is so expensive to install, upgrade and maintain.
Maybe you can use those botnet services that prerender your webpages in a cloud service and sends it back to you. I think Chrome has an option for this.
