I think I recognize an Anubias plant in there, but I'm not sure all of those plants are real. Unless that lamp of his is like a 100 watts strong. Generally speaking you need about 1-2 watts of lighting per gallon so that your plants grow decently.
By the looks of it, that tank has to be at least 30-40 gallons big, so he'd need about 70-80 watts to grow things properly. Although the anubias plants do prefer their lighting on a low to moderate level so it's not impossible to grow them in a less than ideal place where most other plants would suffer.

I'm moving out of my parents house and getting an apartment next month (same carpet/wall color as pic). I cannot decide which looks sexier; a darker colored desk or a lighter colored one. I made my own as well, vinyl paper stretched over MDF wood and laid on top of a glass desk. I hate edgy things, so I made sure I could never be accused of such things when I made my edges. :^)
Joking aside, it never looked that bad without the camera flash, and now it is a little better since I cut, stretched, and reglued half of it to the underside, it is flush finally. I still have the other half to go, but it's time consuming, I am lazy, and for the last 2 days I moved the room around and cleaned various things. ye, its the overnight sensations kit. the kit from parts express is really easy to put together since it comes with cabinets pre cut, you just need wood glue and some weights. but if you want to build the cabinets, meniscus audio is the best source; theirs comes with stuffing, screws, wire which the parts express kit doesn't.
I upgraded from micca motion mb42's.
The woofer is a transmission line that i designed and just finished last night. i just need to paint it. i put it there for fun and to take a pic for /g/. It'll go on the floor eventually or maybe in my car or something.
How im powering everything now is really ghetto, i have two cheap lepai amps, one for the overnight sensations, then i made a ghetto low pass filter on the RCA cables connecting the other amp which is powering the woofer. since the woofer is a transmission line it doesn't need a lot of power to get plenty loud.
I really recommend the overnight sensations if you have a free weekend and want some excellent desk/tv speakers for the price. I find the imaging really great on them, and the bass extends quite low for their size. a woofer really isn't necessary with these for most people in most rooms.
