That aint even that much shit. I work at a printing company, with 6 presses on the floor. They all have 3+ PCs running them, plus the other 60 data collection stations on the floor. The presses use corn starch to keep the paper from sticking. We have a humidity control system and we maintain a constant temp in the factory. All that powder and environment equals some shit.

You should see a single machine after 6 months.

What's wrong with that? I can't believe that compressed air could spin them fast enough to harm the bearings.
>>
>>47151471
I've killed fans before. Maybe they were older fans and had it coming anyway, but I'd rather be safe than sorry. Especially with a PSU. I only do short bursts into the PSU to prevent the fan from spinning. You could jam something into the grill to prevent that and go at it, but that's even more sketch to me.

I used to run cable for a living. Once we ended up with a non-functioning network for a wing of a finished building we were working in and it turned out that a plumber welded the entire bundle of wires together.

Took forever to track down the location. The toner didn't help, the signal still made to to the other end... just through every single wire instead of the original.

Legit question.
If you wash your motherboard with warm deionized water, and let it dry for like a day or two, will it be alright?
Also what kind of detergent can one use?
I've thought of propyl alcohol that clear one.
Can I do that?
no trolls please I'm no idiot I'm just asking if someone has done this.

I actually managed to fix a CPU that was all bent to shit like that. IIRC it was an AMD Phenom quad core from like 2011

I got all the prongs perfectly straight and salvaged some other prongs from an ancient early 90's CPU, putting them in the correct holes in the motherboard socket. Then I plugged it in and amazingly everything worked fine. Too bad I had already ordered a replacement CPU by the time I bothered to try

Yes, in theory, it can be done. I'd let it dry for 3 or 4 days out of fear of water being in some of the gaps between close fitting parts like sockets and ports and such.

As for what detergent/cleaning solution, you should look it up. There are (or were) water based cleaning solutions for washing solder fluxes off of populated circuit boards. They aren't used much any more with no-clean fluxes and reflow, but you should be able to find some guidance.

I've never done it to a motherboard, but I have washed SNES board.

I just used dish washing soap, then rinsed with purified water, and gave a final rinse of 91% isopropyl alcohol and set it aside to dry. It still works to this day.

If I were to wash a mobo I'd make sure to take out the BIOS battery wait for the capacitors to discharge before I do.
