xfce is the desktop environment, the wm it uses (iirc) is xfwm4. if you want to use xfce + tiling you could always replace xfwm4 with something like openbox

Tried making a thread about this a few days ago but nothing much came of it, been trying to make my Linux Mint Cinnamon install look like something other than the gaudy silver Mint-X theme, particularly on the window borders, so far I haven't had any luck with changing anything other than the dock and menu. None of the themes I've tried have managed to theme the window borders and searching online hasn't come to any articles that can help me out.
