Oh my fucking god I can't believe this shit. I'm so angry I can barely type right now. Pic related is the worst piece of technology I have ever bought in my life.

This shit OVERHEATS like a motherfucker. It gets to 90º just browsing.

I don't know what to do anymore. I've tried turning up the fans but that just makes it louder. I've read it might be a problem with Flash, but I can't just stop using it when 90% of the sites use it.

Man, fuck Apple so hard. Why is this allowed.

that's why. also hipsters don't understand thermal dynamics.

LOL
>>
>>47052139
What are you watching that gets it to 90 degrees?

If you have multiple tabs with flash on them including a longer video and other apps and you have the thing on a bed in a warm room I can see it getting to 90.

Yes flash is a problem on the mac. It used to piss me off but I admit I had forgotten about it.

You can use extensions to force websites to load html5 where possible. For Safari this is the clicktoflash extension which is really good. For Chrome I have "html5 video for youtube".

it's a diamond dozen
>>
>>47052031
First of all go to forums.macrumors.com to actually get answers. What are you expecting from brainwashed autists from /g? Anyways I recommend using Safari as a browser. Chrome is poorly written for macs and can cause crazy cpu usage. Just use Safari and you be golden. I got a 13" retina and never have overheating issues. I can spend 6 hours playing sc2 on it and never have any issues.
>>
No problems here :^)
>>
>>47052266
Yeah, I can't say for sure but the temperature seems to shoot up if I have two tabs running flash or a video

My Macbook has only been that low in cold rooms during winter. Still it's been going for 5 years without serious issues.
>>
Apple notebooks tend to cram parts too closely together, especially considering they insist on using hot CPUs to begin with. It's just not possible to get sufficient cooling with that form factor.

I would just sell it and invest in something else. If you really want to keep it around for some reason, then consider underclocking the CPU. You probably won't need that much processing power anyway.

Flash or Safari, it doesn't make a difference.

BTW I am running Macs Fan Control which seems to be the only thing preventing it from going over 90º
>>
>>47052031
Had an Air for a year, here's a tip to make them even remotely usable:
Lock the fan at 100%. Always. Do the same for all apple devices that have them.
These things are designed to be quiet and cool, the device will underclock itself before it considers turning up the fan. Don't give it the option.

Are you worried about the CPU, or it's uncomfortable to use?

If it's the former, you're an autist.
Go read on CPU tolerances, duty life and working temperatures.

>protip: the laptop itself, and especially some components like battery, will be obsolete much much faster than the CPU will die.

No it doesn't.
>>

I'm getting ~70 browsing safari and a bunch of apps open. Also streaming NBA.
>>
>>47052031
My sister had that problem and took care of it along with her ghosting screen

They replaced the motherboard and now its fine
>>
>>47052031

I have the 15 inch model which in theory should overheat more, but I get about 40C while browsing the web, on bootcamp when playing gaymens I get about 65-70C MAXIMUM, the fans doesn't even reach maximum RPM, so it's a pretty cool laptop if you know how to use it.

Your laptop is probably defective, return it to Appel and they will give you a refund or a brand new one.
>>
Daily reminder the fanless macbook will be a literal housefire risk.
>>
>>47052031

I know of four sites that still use flash for video playback.

This leads me to believe that you play fucking Flash games.

The ULV i5-4210u in my lenovo yoga 2 13.3" doesn't even reach 65°C while throttle-locked at 2.7ghz under heavy load. It even has a similar cooling design
>>
>>47055874
>It even has a similar cooling design
Not really, the heatsink in the rMBP is paper thin. Although changing the thermal paste itself will reduce load temps by 30ºC, Apple slaps on the worst shit out of the factory.

I removed Flash quite a while ago because it kept crashing my Firefox and I'm not really missing it.
If I wanna watch a stream or something like that which absolutely requires it I just switch over to Chrome
