>Did an inverter blown a capacitor on your motherboard?
This might have happened, I used an inverter with my T420 when I went of a road trip a few months ago. I'm pretty sure it started to fuck up and not boot after that too. Could I solder on a new one if I buy some decent tools?
>>
about to buy a x220 off of amazon for $300 to use as a programming machine.

I have WWAN card in my t420 that I will never use. Worth installing a SSD instead?

X200s, X61t, X41t, R60, R32, R40, T40, Z61p, 390E, 560X, 570E, 701c, 600E, 355Cs, iSeries 2621, A31, PC 110.
Not encountering much anymore, probably gonna sell the PC110 because screen rot has ruined it.

Is there a better 4-cell battery than the 40Y7005 for an X61s? Where can I get one in the UK?

T23 - primary machine used for internet browsing, email, IRC, music, videos, documents, etc.

600E - used for schoolwork many years ago, now just sits in a closet as a backup in case my T23 were to fail suddenly

lol when is that thing going to die, or is it an old photo?

>>47036189
I meant if the inverter for the screen had made an error, blowing a capacitor on a motherboard.
>shit happens when I mobo'd swap a W500 onto a 4:3 screen/chassic
But in the past, I did use some of those cigarrete lighter plugs by Lenovo, but I wasn't sure if that killed my ThinkPad's battery.

>>47036752
Paid 1145 for one in December 2013, still chiming strong, I've yet to redo the thermal paste.
Nice buy, just don't get buyers remorse over the small keyboard flex :)

>>47036782
download it, get rufus to do a bootable usb
when it boots, select it, it'll do cries of death, do not turn it off despite its scaryness
It takes about 6 minutes I think to flash, it'll keep on doing the boot sequence too, so when you see the ThinkPad splash screen, remove that USB!
When it screams, do the fap ritual.

>>47036721
I think you can get a legitamate quadcore i7 on the T510, rather then some core2duo, I don't think the QX9300 is considered a quad.

16:9 ratio instead of 16:10, bezels are disgusting tho.
Better GPU because its newer.

>W510 i use it for everything other than gaymen

Do you mean you use your W510 for everything but you do not play video games or you use your W510 for everything other than gaming, for which you use another computer? If it's the latter why would you not just use the other computer for everything and opt for a smaller Thinkpad with better battery life instead?

Which one is the best option for me?
Mainly for programming on the go and for pentesting at work, so some CPU usage, not that much I'd say.

Also, there's one with a german keyboard, but I'm Portuguese. QWERTZ isn't my deal but I can easily change the layout. It's a bit cheaper.

Just bought a X220 under the impression that it had a IPS screen. I was wrong.. I paid £217 with free shipping. Both corners of the monitors are cracked and the space bar is super sticky. Don't know if its worth it to send it back or repair it and replace the screen and bezels.

Thinking about buying a t60, what would be the difference between the intel graphics and the ati graphics the motherboard is equipped with? I know that libreboot would not work with the ati, but other than that? The processor is a core2duo clocked at 1.83Ghz and only has one gig of ram.
