Does anyone know where to get a legit IBM badge? The ones on ebay seem questionable.

Buy a borked x60 for $15
Bought an ssd for my R51.
Apparently it uses IDEs.
What the fuck do I do from here?
>>46975056
You're fucked unless you manage to cram some series of adapters in the ultrabay to convert IDE to SATA.
>>46975360
I removed the optical disk drive. Are there any caddies that can put an SSD through this shit?
>>46975374
You'd have to look for one with an integrated IDE to SATA adapter. I don't know if such a thing exists.
>>46974841
the ones on eBay are usually pretty good actually.
>>46975397
Something like this?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/2nd-SATA-HD-HDD-hard-drive-Caddy-for-IBM-ThinkPad-R50-R50P-R50E-R51-R52-R60-R61-/110937422863?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item19d462bc0f
>>46975457
Yep, looks like it.
But your speeds will still be shit because it will be running through a slow-ass ATA port.
>>46975503
Fuck. How bad are we talking? I'm planning on using this to get introduced to linux.
>>46975605
No idea. There's a shitloads of different IDE revisions.
Should I buy a x1 carbon?
for 2-300$ more I could get a laptop with 3x the specs. But I want to use it for programming and I've heard only good thing about the keyboard which I must say look like heaven for fingers. Also need because I'm going back to school and the laptop I have is a gigantic ROG right now.
>>46975637
Well, fuck. First the wrong ram and now this. At least the Generic battery isn't shit.
>>46975686
>chiclet keyboard
>good
>>46975715
he's talking about the keys, not the layout. I have used the chiclet keyboard in some thinkpads, and the keys feel good at typing.
>>46975776
But both chiclet keys and the layout of that thing are godawful.
What do people see in those shitboards?
Is it a good idea to use the TPFC.
>>46974841
Seems like a waste and I would rather not spend that much.
Are the unofficial batteries on ebay any good?
>>46975990
from what ive heard they have at worst half and at best 75% of a geniune one
>>46974232
posting form a x32 with 2 ssd's and a 2gb cf card for swap.
>>46976124
Where can I get a genuine one for a good price?
>>46975807
It works fine
deal with change faggot.
>>46975807
The keys are not the same but they are still good. The layout takes some time to get used to and you will most likely make changes in software but you get used to it. I do think it is a shame that lenovo didn't realized that the layout were important one of the great things about keep buying a thinkpad meant zero adjustment time when going from machine to machine. I doubt the chiclet layout will look the same next time I get a thinkpad and that is a real shame.
But as a main computer it is fine. You get used to it in a couple of weeks.

>>46975374
Is this what vaginas look like /g/?
>>46976274
No.
It's better.
The cpu in this R51 is melting just trying to play audio.
Glorious.
>>46976274
sauce on pic?
I just bought a t440s, had it for about a month now. Really disapointed with the touchpad, it just feels so rickety, and there's no physical buttons.
Anything i can do to get physical buttons or am i out of luck?
>>46977867
disregard that, i suck cocks
posted from my x60
Buying an x131e with 4gb ram and a 320gb hd

Is 250 dollars for a T420 with a 500 GB HDD and 4 gigs of RAM a decent deal?
>>46978019
I got a i5-2.5gz/8gb ram/300gb T420 for around that
Got my X201 yesterday.
How can I get alt gr + 2 for @ to work in Windows 7?
Also I installed all the drivers and shit from Windows Update.
Apart from hotkey features integration what other bloatware from Lenovo´s driver site is actually useful?
