Seriously, why would anyone need more than that? Moreover, why would anyone need more than that on a fucking Chromebook?

Y'all are so dumb.
>>
>>46970018
It would be if you could actually install a proper os, but you can't due to lack of drivers.

Having an install of windows without keyboard/touchpad working on a laptop isn't very useful now is it?

But the finger prints are only stored on the phone, so im not sure what you're on about. They're stored on the secure enclave of the A8 chip and are never backed up to iTunes or icloud.

Why wouldn't Windows run on it? Touchpad and Keyboard can just default to generic HID drivers, synaptics and whoever the fuck makes the keyboard logic do, you can live without your COOL LED and multi gestures you'd never use anyway.
>>
>>46970231
You've never used a chromebook or tried to install any os other than linux distros on them have you?

They use some random interface that Windows does not have drivers available for, its not as simple as you think it is. The only reason linux works is because chrome os is linux.

Can you not? You'll worry the autists.

Is it a fanless design?

I have only looked through a few reviews, but I haven't found one that mentioned heat or noise.

I believe it was the Verge review that just had a score next to heat/noise in their conclusion, but no explanation I could find in the review. Admittedly, I did akim through.

I'm pretty worried about that adaptive brightness shit, a phone is one thing, that shit on a laptop is a no-go unless it's optional.

$1000 for a laptop that is nothing but a full screen chrome webbrowser.

why not pay $1000 for a laptop that can do anything and just install chrome?
>>
>>46970018
If you think "productivity = Windows", just get something with Windows preinstalled.

>programming and 2D game development
Not on ChromeOS, but on other OSes that you can install on this, sure.

If you want to make Windows-only software and use Visual Studio, use a Windows system or run a Windows VM.

>3D game development
Are Intel graphics sufficient for this? Some of the major game engines have development tools that run on Linux.

It can run Android apps though, or at least some of them. That'll get better over time though.

It has SD card reader. 64 additional GB for $30 that is hella good deal.
I know SD is slow but enough for seamless music and video streaming, which takes a lot of precious space.

>>
Lets see, US$ 1K and 1.3K for:

- Broadwell ULV 2.2 and 2.4GHZ dual core processors with 3 and 4MB of L3 cache.
- 2560 x 1700 resolution over an Intel HD graphics integrated into said ULV processors.
- 32GB and 64GB of storage (mostly surely used by the system already).
- 8 and 16GB of RAM.
- Keyboard with missing keys.
- ChromeOS.

What were they thinking? This thing is horrendously unbalanced, notably so the graphics. And that much RAM is just for show, there is no use case I can foresee where this machine would be remotely useful and that much would be needed.

If you ask me, one of the few Chromebooks who got it right is the Acer Chromebook 13 and even then it is still expensive near the US$ 250 price range.
