Why are there no new flagship phones with keyboards?
Almost every time I see someone with a smartphone they are texting. So wouldn't those phones be popular? Isn't there a demand for them?

I should have specified it but I am not talking about these kind of keyboards. I find them personally too small to type on comfortably and I too prefer touchscreen keyboards to them. Also I don't like how they limit the screen size. I am talking about keyboards like these.
When you can already reach 60+wpm on a touchscreen it's not worth the compromise phones need to make to include a touch keyboard.

Absolutely, but as far using that model in this day and age it's not even remotely worth it to put up with the bullshit of gen 1 android hardware (and ROMS).
Made emulators preddy gud as well as the odd occasion i SSH'd into somewhere, significantly less akward with a keyboard.

My guess is that they were mostly impractical; keyboards on smartphones have always stopped working after a couple months of use. That is unless you never used it.

Visit the play store and search for "keyboard"; you're not going to get swype features with a physical keyboard, OP. When all you're using are your thumbs and sometimes your index fingers, you ought to remove as much effort needed in order to actually type; otherwise it's just needlessly complicated.
