This thing will make really good budget Laptops. I'm not even shilling look online you will find laptops around $500 with this APU.
Looking to upgrade my GPU as my current one (a Nvidia Quadro 2000 I got from a business going bankrupt a few years back) really isn't able to keep up with my video editing, multiple monitors, and the few games I still play.

I would like to recommend the ideapad z40 for anyone looking for an ultrabook in the 500-600 dollar range. It runs amazingly cool, the screen is 1920x1080, the graphics card (yes, a dedicated gtx820) is powerful enough to run 1080p 60fps on youtube and run most games on low, and the build quality is thinkpad tier. I took it apart and it has room for msata, a new ssd or harddrive, and the fan to the cpu is easily accessibly to clean or whatnot. I'm very pleased with the quality of this ultrabook.

The Latitude E7440 is an "ultrabook", but it is still a Latitude. You can still change the hard drives or add RAM or whatever.
This is coming from a guy with a hugeass beast of a ThinkPad with a quad core i7 and a Quadro K2000M.
If all you cared about was performance, you'd have to get a laptop from 2012, because the third gen Intel Core i-series was the last one where Intel focused on performance.

The newer once are much slimmer, i get your drift. I still have a R40 laying around and weighs about 4.5kg's so portability is a no go, but newer models like the T540 are pretty good.
Otherwise the Latitude series are currently the best price/performance/reliably laptops out there right now, the 7440 is a good example but the processor is a tab bit weak.
