Who uses a "download manager" and for what purpose?

The only ones I've seen being pushed today (it's 2015, in case you hadn't noticed) are adware infested "download managers" for privacy-infringing filesites like Mega, Turbobit, Rapidshare and other complete garbage

Because it's still the only torrent client that performs well. Most other clients like qBitTorrent, rTorrent, Deluge etc. use libtorrent and are downright horrible for anyone with a modern Internet connection (500+ Mbit)
>>
>>46892978
Scripted downloads of multiple files.
Downloading files in multiple parts simultaneously to circumvent server-side download shaping.

Main reasons.
>>
>>46892978
I wanted to download 90 chapters of a mongolian mural and there was no torrent with all of them available so instead of clicking each chapter, I just used the manager to do it all at once. I've had to use it more than once for old shit that's only available in this manner.
>>
>>46893011
>>46892978
Also, use DownThemAll! as the firefox extensions. Having your download manager as a browser extension helps with the speed of operation, and makes the inclusion of malware more difficult.
>>
>>46893023
>and makes the inclusion of malware more difficult.
How so?
>>
>>46892978
Basically when you are on porn website the retards in charge seem to always try to prevent how fast you can download the videos and they also try to block you from downloading the video to your local hard disk for convenience. You can basically write scripts to automatically download all the porn videos of your chosen genre automatically and use segmented downloading to increase the download speed. It's not just videos that these assholes seem to be shaping. They also try to block you from downloading images too fast or from viewing too many at the same time. You can make scripts to use multiple IP addresses and proxies etc... to circumvent these pathetic limitations. Downloading these files to your disk makes it possible to keep all of your porn perfectly sorted and arranged, you can get rid of the lower quality material and view it at your convenience in any location with or without internet access.

Not anymore, my ISP has recently told everyone they are sending all information of torrenters to government, can't be bothered to set up VPN or switch.

Video player is usually windows movie player or whatever movie player is used in CyanogenMod 11 (phone is ks01lte, rooted and CM11 ROM.)

DL manager is for niggers. Use the inbuilt inside whatever browser you use.
