Probably because it's a DEMONSTRATION DEVICE

That people would have been using ALL DAY

Use your FUCKING BRAIN

This is old news.
Qualcomm is quickly bringing some Cortex A72 based chips to market, as well has fast tracking their Kryo core in the S820.
They'll probably be fabbed on Samsung's 14nm FinFET node.

Samsung's own Exynos 7420 appears to have no real thermal throttling issues at all. French Tomshardware ran geekbench six times in a row and performance only dipped 1-4%. Not too shabby considering even the A8 and A8X will throttle under workloads lasting more than a minute.

That has absolutely nothing to do with it.

Discussing a thermal throttling issue with Qualcomm's new 20nm SoC is a Samsung attack on HTC?
You're a shit eating retard.
>>
>>46867828
Just add a water cooling system.
>>
>>46868114
It definitely didn't throttle when it was put in an LG phone. Looks like HTC just screwed up the implementation. But you must be blind if this thread isn't just made by a desperate samshill.

Good thing I don't run benchmarks on my phone all day.

No, the problem at hand is that you're a fucking moron.
A57 cores are large, and power hungry at 20nm. They can't handle sustained high clocks. Chip makers implement heavy stepping to combat this. Anandtech has an article up on the S810 reference platform where they explore its power adaptive clocking at length.

Samsung themselves had the same issue.
Calling me a Samsung shill for pointing out objective facts just makes you even more of a shit eating retard. This is an 18+ board by the way.

http://semiaccurate.com/2015/03/02/behind-fake-qualcomm-snapdragon-810-overheating-rumors/

Read this retards.

If you want the tl;dr

Samsung might fuck up with the Exynos so they decided to spread FUD about the 810 overheating.

LG can't into thermals and both Android Police and Anandtech can't find anything wrong with the chip.

Also, in answer to your question. Likely. the 820 will fuck Exynos sideways.

Phonearena is widely known as a Samshit sponsored site so don't trust anything they post.

No, I'm not reading that garbage.

This is also the reason why ARM launched their A72 core IP so soon after launching the A57.
Their A15 core was a power hungry bitch as well, it took them about 2 years to sort out a solution in the A17. When they use the term "sustained performance" they don't mean it has significantly higher performance per clock, they mean it can sustain higher clocks without throttling as heavily. MediaTek is implementing A72 cores in some low cost 28nm chips because they're still more power efficient than A57 cores on the same node.

>>46868342
Stop spreading Charlie Demerjian clickbait, you fucking retard. I verbally pushed your shit in the last time you posted this.

>>46868384
Where's Apple's independent fab, Charlie?
How many GCN CU does Carrizo have, Charlie?
How many 100% blatant lies will you post before you decide to stop embarrassing yourself?
>>
>>46867922
I can't wait for more in-depth info on the Exynos 7420. 5250 Geekbench is ULV i5 territory performance yet it consumes a lot less power. The ULV i5 gets 5500 with turboboost consuming 30W of power in the process.
>>
>>46868429
>This is also the reason why ARM launched their A72 core IP so soon after launching the A57.
Hasn't it already been 3 years since A57?
>>
>>46867922
I am so fucking hype for the Exynos. Daaamnit.
>>
>>46868398
>>46868429
Yeah, and when Anand and Ars find out there's nothing wrong with the 810, you're going to question their validity as well, samshills.
>>
>>46868518
>hurr i don't need credible reviews based on actual measured performance because you're going to find a way to talk back at me

Are you my mom?
>>
>>46868443
The 7420 is just a stepping stone, but it gives a lot of insight into the 14nm FinFET process since there are two directly comparable parts. The 7420 isn't a farcry from the prior 20nm 5433.
Both Apple and Qualcomm will be fabbing chips on the process, and that should be where the real excitement will come. Samsung is just using stock ARM IP for the most part, they're not using an internally designed ARM core or GPU yet.

>>46868468
Since they first announced it and when it became available for licensing happened at two different times. Were it available sooner we would have had chip makers like MediaTek and Allwinner come out with cheap 28nm SoCs sooner instead of going with the little core.

>>46868518
>I'm a samsung shill for pointing out how power hungry a stock ARM core is
get a load of this butthurt Charlie cock sucker

Where's Apple's fab? Huh? Where is it? Charlie accused Apple of lying to their own investors about building a fab. He made people pay a fee for the privilege of reading his lie filled articles. So wheres the fab?

Oh wait, thats right. Charlie Demerjian is just a no talent hack who is only qualified to write headlines for wccftech.
Eat shit, faggot.

Its orge. Every phone this year suck is confirmed

Is there any chance of the purple tint on the camera module happening again?

It was caused by the s600 overheating on the m7 I believe.

Also people blaming HTC for qualcomms fuckups
>>
>>46868683
>Also people blaming HTC for qualcomms fuckups
When nobody else has with the S600 had purplecam problems, it is HTC's fault for designing the device so poorly.
>>
>>46868705
That I agree with that

But I was referring to the m9 as people are blaming HTC for qualcomms issues with the 810

LG G4 demo units at MWC didn't have the same issues as HTC M9.

Oh yeah, HTC is really delivering a winner here. Best device of the year.

Not to mention that if it's anything like the M8, if the screen is cracked, you're 99% fucked because, unlike other aluminium-cased phones, you need to bend the fucking frame to get the screen off.

Despite the shit that's heaped upon Apple iPhones, they're a pleasure to repair.
