Consoles are immensely competitive and slowly phasing out. Why would they do this now?

What's wrong with that? This seems perfect to replace my nexus player (doesn't do 4k, bought it before my new TV). Android TV is a great 10ft UI and nvidia and Razer are bringing some good exposure to it for gaming.

PS4 just pushed past 20 million sold through in less than 14 months. That is the fastest selling console in history. The entire market of mobile, console, and PC is growing, just at different rates. Not a single platform is in actual decline.
